silence over the phone

does anyone else get annoyed when you are in an argument with someone and it's the other person's time to respond and they don't say shit? like.. silence for like 5 minutes. i can't stand it... so i always pretend like i think they hung up. honestly... i should just hang up. ugh - im sorry but im having a tough night tonight... lots of arguing and im about to burst. not to mention i think a skunk got in the house bc it smells funky.

Silence usually bothers me from a social awkwardness perspective, I feel as if the other person is thinking "Man, this guy is boring". Left over insecurities on my part. But back to your problem, if there is so much silence, there usually is a reason why. Either someone just doesn't know what to say from all the excitment of the fight, or they're really thinking about something that's being said. Either way, it sucks. I find arguments are best when each person cools off so they're actually thinking about what their saying rather than just acting on emotion and trying to "win" the fight.
