I have a feckin concussion * 1

And it's fucked... It's like a bad drug.

Happened some time last week, it's either from the scrap I got in the weekend before, the bump of my head on the forklift at work, or both...

But dear god,  I haven't felt right in for a week and a half, had to leave work yesterday and the day before because I'd feel like I was gonna faint any time I exerted myself, like walking upstairs was legit scary, things that were typically pretty easy for me at work became monumental fucking tasks..

Went straight to ER from work yesterday, they did a bunch of tests, my heart is in great condition,  blood pressure is fine, no lack of vitamins or anything in the blood...  When the doc did the concussion tests though, fuck I failed, miserably lol

Apparently all the years of kickboxing, mma, football, bar/street fights are catching up with me... I mean, the blows to the head I took recently were nothing to write home about, but the state it's left me in is fucked... I actually just got fired from work because people thought I was showing up drunk.. But no... That's just not something I do unless the boss is buying lol.. But ya anyhoo, its  because I'm concussed... My girlfriend even noticed it before things went way south, said I was acting weird, thought I was doing drugs she didn't know about or something... I thought I was fine until the last couple days.

Moral of the story?... Ummm.. Stop getting hit in the head if you're like me and like to scrap and play contact sports, that shit adds up... Once you get into your mid-late 30's you just can't take shit like you used to, those mild/severe blows to the head have a cumilitave effect, next thing you know a slight knock in the head can change everything.

Faack.. Now its time to call my boss and try to explain the fact I wasn't drunk, high, or anything like that.. Just a little head trauma is all :facepalm:

Sorry to hear that man.

Went through something simlair earlier this year after getting whacked in soccer.

Went 3 months with no more than 2 hours of sleep a night, focus and memory was destroyed. I wrecked a nerve in my kneck and have occipital neuralgia now.. dull headache 24/7. good times.


I was taking a CBD, lions mane, zinc, magnesium and a b-complex to help speed cognitive recovery. Not sure if that helped at all, things do get better it just takes time

I know right... I'm actually looking at those kinda things right now.. Lawyers are fucking expensive though.

Add in the costs of lawyers when you sue.  You might pay now but you would get the money back. Take up the free consultation, for sure.

this isn't exactly my first rodeo lol, I've had many, many concussions, been hit in the head a ridiculous amount of times and been knocked the fuck right out more times than I can count, many of those times I was still gettin kicked in the head while I was completely unconscious, back then I didn't realize how much of an impact that can make on a guys brain.. Now I understand..

Seriously guys, don't feel stupid putting on headgear while you're sparring and shit, head trauma accumulates and turns your head into a weak little egg shell eventually, don't be like me, wear that shit... Also hardhats, wear those too if you're working in any kind of environment where you can bonk your head, they're fucking annoying I know, but concussions suck even worse... And Every head injury counts... Don't learn this the hard way.

the top of my head has tons of outward folds in it from football
maybe even having too much or too little air in it

I was attaching a 16 ton I beam with the straps, stood up thinking it was farther away and bonked my head on one of the forks.
