Pluteus cervinus ID req

Habitat:
Open grass, parkland with mixed woods, beside a fallen tree. Well embedded into the soil.

Gills:
Off white at first now a creamy pink. Crowded, free (so it seems)

Stem:
Bulbous at base, tapering upward. Solid. Fibrous especially towards base

Cap:
Smooth, grey, pitted in places. Convex. Cap margin cracked in places. Flesh white but turning
grey toward skin.

Spore print color:
Dusty/ sandy pink

T&S:
Tastes faint but pleasant . Smells fresh mushroomy, pleasant scent

It could be Pluteus cervinus, but the habitat you describe, and the wood chips clinging to the base makes me think Pluteus petasatus
