Hmmm. I rather enjoyed the movie, but i do understand what your talking about. That speech he gave killed the ending for me.

Yeah the movie was directed and edited somewhat like a bad made for tv movie. Personally I didn't like any of the characters and didn't at all mind to see them drowned. Lets face it most of the guys on that boat were asshole so why feel sorry for them. In the end what did they die for? Greed... Yeup they chose to risk their life for green paper. Also I don't understand why they threw that other sail boat in there, or all the drama with the coast gaurd, it had nothing to do with the plot. I think the movie would have been a lot better if they kept you on the boat, tried to convey the isolation of a small boat in the midst of a huge storm. Also they could have played up the sadness of poor fisherman risking their lives just to make ends meet. Make a social commentary of types. The ending was cheesy, the begining was cheesy, pretty much it sucked. THe only cool part about it was the ocean. Hollywood strikes again another blockbuster piece of shit

Misson to Mars wasnt that bad.

And as far as the sailors going into the ocean for a little green, who doesnt do stupid things for money. Its human nature.
