REP YO HOOD YO!(your flowhood that is) * 1
    #25947605 -

Like the title says, let's see you REP YO HOOD YO!(your flowhood that is)

Just pictures, or a full on schematic with step by step photos, and anywhere in between... With or without specs, but pictures are required... here's my first one...

20×24×6" 99.99% efficiency HEPA with 16" plenum, and the blower from a 2.5 ton hvac system, one side boxed completely and 4 layers of prefilter on the inlet side:

And the newly constructed; "The Beast"

The Beast features a 36×48×3" 99.99% efficiency HEPA with an 18"plenum and the blower from a 3 ton hvac system: one side boxed completely, and 3 layers of prefilter on the inlet... also has offset side, bottom and top panels that give me a 36×48×28" block of laminar flow to work in. The bottom panel has hinged legs for support when lowered. There are 2-18" LED strip lights  tied back to a switch with the blower... I suspect this will allow for bag2bag expansion for 8-12 bags no problem... waiting on blue oyster masters to colonize, then G2G to bags for bag2bag expansion: 1 pt>1 bag>8-12 bags: or 4 pts>4 bags>32-48 bags (in 4 consecutive sessions) Pouring plates in front of it with a full size oven rack on quart jars was cool, but felt like a waste: I could literally crawl inside: Can't wait to utilize the height! Bottom panel can be used solo as a desk while still protecting the filter... it's ugly, rough cut, and screws poking through everywhere except in the front (working) plenum... but it's mine, and it's sturdy! Especially after having to fortify the table with 2×2 legs screwed to the existing flimsiness that is there

That's all I got, let's see what we got out there!

Thanks 0... TSB, do you find 24 tall enough? I'm trying to bag2bag without bringing the recievers off the table into my lap... I've only lost 2 bags of 2 dozen... but that's enough lol

Do you not paint any of your work space, plenum, or anything at all?

Try a spoodle for G2G transfers. Just put it in a grain bag and PC it with your grains. They make other brands but the spoodle is one piece so there are fewer places for contams to hide. I use it for G2G and spawning. Haven't had a problem yet...

I'm not currently setup for a new photo so I'll share the one I took a week or so ago. I changed the rack so its elevated by some PVC. I'll update with a better pic later.

3/4 birch and the filter is the biomax 24x24x6 99.99% with a dayton 1TDT8. Final depth is something like 20". I have a pretty ghetto prefilter for the time being and that'll be fixed soon too.

Here's a better shot..

Finally found the filter I was looking for and got this project off the ground.  The filter is a 36"x48" Microguard 99.

The box was constructed of 3/4" birch ply and was a real pain in the ass to put together single-handed.  I attached all the braces first and then put it all together and pre-drilled the screw holes as I went.

When I put my original refurbished blower on the top, it looked like a toy.  I didn't want to get it mounted and end up underpowered.

Luckily, I refurbished a second, larger unit when I did the first and just swapped the new 1/3hp motor...whoo!

I attached 1/4" hardware cloth to the face with a couple staples and sandwiched it between the box and the trim to keep the filter face from getting dinged up.

For the pre filter I just grabbed a furnace filter and stuck it to the blower housing with some magnets...yes!

Here she is in all her massive glory:

Flow reading.  It comes off the face around 118fpm.

This thing is awesome.

What model and how do you like it? I’m considering buying one and doing a build like yours.
