Circular saw...unless you have a major huge table saw table it would be a real bitch to cut a full sheet on the table saw hah. Prefer worm drive type circular saws if you're in the market.

You can use either but if you are going to use a circular saw and you want straight cuts. Build this...



When I made mine I made two sides one side to cut for the deeper side of the saw and one to cut for the shallower side of the saw. I also used a U shaped piece of aluminum for the guide to make sure it was straight...

From working in a hardware store I can't trust dewalt tools anymore. of all the faulty tools that come back I'd say about 90% are dewalt. Makita and Bosch make really sturdy products. I guess if you're just using them for mycology spending hundreds of dollars on tools would be a total waste.

You people? What do you mean by "you people"?

You would use whatever you have available. A flow hoods needs to seal up nicely so you'll want nice measurements and accurate cuts. I'd use a table saw if I had one around but alas, I just had to use my "skillsaw" and a four foot level as my straight edge.

Home Depot can make the big cuts before you haul it out of the store. That's what I did.
Then I finished everything with a table saw.

I read that the average power tool only gets used for 1/2 hour in its entire life. I guess the vast majority of people are only using them for one job or people buying them as gifts and not getting any use. Maybe the execs at the cheaper brands companies know this and are building them to suit how much actual use they'll get.

The Reason you are getting so many returns on DeWalt is not that they are no good. Quite the contrary. People like DeWalt and when they wear them out.  What they do is buy another DeWalt tool take out the inside and switch the new for the old and then return to the store and get their money back. Or they buy the DeWalt tools to use them to build a flow hood and then return them when they are done and get their money back. It's like a loaner program!! You have to read between the lines.

Idk man. If you have a receipt and it's hardly used you can just return it anyway. Most of the returns are faulty products. Faulty products get sent back to dewalt and checked over. If there was some old ass parts in it I feel  they would notice. Maybe I've been getting duped tho lol. Their tools aren't low quality at all I just wouldn't trust them without a fat warrantee. A lot seem to arrive from the warehouse already broken.

OK, let me break this down. If Dewalt gets a tool back and there is an old part inside do you think they are going to track down the person that brought it back to the store and sue them? They would have more invested in the law suite than they would get from that person. But my point was this actually. If Dewalt products are often returned to where ever you work then that is what I would buy. If I was going to buy a tool and return it once I built my flow hood. It would bring up no suspicion as to why it is being returned and they will give you your money back with no problem. Which they never give a problem anyway. I know a guy that use to buy broken PS4's and other gaming systems off eBay broken and do this very thing. When all is said and done. He would have a brand new system for pennies on the dollar. Yea the outside might be a little beat up but the internals is what matters. I was just trying to code what I said. But I do not do this anyway so it doesn't really matter. But if something breaks right after the warranty is up and I feel I got ripped off. I may take this into consideration.

I get that's what you were saying. When 3 $600 dollar dropsaws come back in a week I promise it's not somebody doing a scam. All products are bought and returned using a persons business account. With a click of a button we can see not only who bought the tool but the business they work for too. Your friend might be able to do this with ps4s at a Walmart or some shit but my point still stands. Dewalt sends us far more faulty products than any other brand and because of this I would be wary of buying a dewalt product over certain other competitors.

I've always used DeWalt and love their tools. I'm also close friends with many Carpenters and general contractors that all use and love DeWalt so.... :shrug:

It does not matter if they know who returns the tools. Dewalt would lose money taking them to court. A business like DeWalt knows they will have losses like this and they figure it in. But no big deal anyway. MY friend has done it on everything even a coffee maker.
