Yeah, it's a rumor, has been for a very long time. That is something that would take a lot of money to find and also cover up. The general public will never know the validity of that rumor.

The letters etc might be evidence that MJ was certainly “abnormal” by usual societal standards, but of themselves are not evidence that he was a paedophile. Anyway, I feel like I am now being pushed to defend him which was not my intention. I don’t know if he is guilty or innocent, and that documentary didn’t change anything. Robson and Safechuck are quite convincing, and I would certainly hope they wouldn’t upset their families so much by making up false allegations. But, whatever the situation, both sides should always be thoroughly considered before jumping to any conclusions.

Either way, whatever the truth really is, my heart goes out to everyone involved and affected by this in any way, and the families on both sides etc. Lots of pain being felt here on all sides I’m sure.

Yes, that is for sure. In light of the smollit case going on at the same time it makes this case more ambiguous as well. I do lean way more towards guilt due to my own experiences and what I have seen and heard from others in my life as well.:sad:

Turns out its being aired in my country tomorrow in one four hour sitting.

I'm not sure I benefit from watching it, as opposed to merely assuming he is guilty of unspeakable things and continuing occasionally listening to his music.

Unspeakable things should be spoken in a court of law but, should they be spoken to me? I heard several people in turmoil after having watched it, is that a rollercoaster I want to get on, a posthumous 4 hour character assessination of an artist whos music I like, no doubt regurgitating a bad feeling in me whenever I hear one of those songs - need I introduce that negativity in my life?

If I then hear PocketLady quote Huff  that there is no new factual evidence than the evidence he was acquitted for..

Sounds like another media mindfuck to me, apart from what may have actually happened.

Bill Cosby drugged ladies and raped them, this was proven in court and he was convicted. This is the same stuff Michael Jackson was acquitted for, now wrapped into a sensationalist 4 hour MSM emotion jerker to piss on the guy's grave a decade after the fact.

There's a kind of masochism that's productive and one that's counterproductive.

I guess I won't watch it and just watch those who did bash each others heads in about the Yay or Nay of it. There's bound to be another shockig revelation that either proves or disproves it. If they don't turn it into a LOTR-length epic I might just watch that.

I was molested as a child too, and it did extreme damage to my mind.

Which just as for you makes this MJ thing way more of a *personal* rollercoaster ride than for the general public.

You having seen it, as one abuse survivor to the other - is it worth watching?

The director stated the goal of the film is to shine light on the grooming process and the depth of the internal struggle sexual abuse survivors exeperience. Whether you believe MJ did it or not, it's worth it for that alone.

I think it will be therapeutic for many victims of abuse and lead some to re-assess their past and seek out help to come to terms with things. There's a lot to it that would make the average person say "wtf", but would help an abuse survivor to feel they're not alone in what they experienced.

I just watched the follow up interview with Oprah. I feel like if you watch that you'd get a good vibe of whether or not watching the whole thing is worth it.

The Wade guy is hard to read, but if James is faking it he needs to be given every acting award available and a PhD in psychology. He seems like he's really struggling still to this day.

The urgent suggestion that I would get my head beaten in with a hammer my perpetrator had on hand if I didnt comply, and then, if I told anyone ever after, was the extent of my grooming.

No unforgettable time at neverland for me.

Why didn't they speak up at the trial when this was a case?

I didn't stay in a mansion either, and the mom of my perpetrator was physically abusive as well. The guy broke my left arm too (my writing and drawing arm).
