Georgia Gyms

Hi there-found these in wood chips in the yard. Looks like a Gymnopilus but not sure what kind... These are orange with no bruising. I have found the purple colored Gyms and rust colored before but they had rough caps. Found near Canton GA. a few days ago.

Spore print is orange/rust colored.

Yes, Gymnopilus looks right, nice ID. I'd place it near G. flavidellus or something in the hybridus/penetrans/sapineus group.  It's a complicated genus at the moment in need of a NA multi-gene phylogenetic study with more samples. In this case it's best to call it a Gymnopilus that's likely inactive.

Thanks for feedback. I have never seen a Galerina but some of the pics look very similar to the ones I found. Doe anyone know how you can  reliably identify Galerina?
