Fuckin' Toyotadopes

I'm coming back from a far D driving a respectable distance behind this mid to late aught Corolla with the twain ov us going 40mph-ish.  We're coming up on a light and just before we cross it turns yellow and she brakes HARD.  It was raining and i have no ABS in the delivery junker so i'm pumping the brakes but still end up rear ending her.  I could have released and swerved into the opposing lane but i would have hit another car head on because THE LIGHT HAD JUST TURNED FUCKING YELLOW AND ANYONE ELSE BUT THESE PUSSYASS FUCKING TOYOTA DRIVERS JUST CRUISE THROUGH.  I'm glad my '96 Toyota is finally dead.  The only reason for the irony is that it was free; i'm not a Toyotadope.  But now that since i rear ended her, i'm at fault according to the rule(93, 93 93/93) even if it was clearly the Toyotadope's fault.  I was able to drive the junk back to my apartment and pick up the x-type to finish delivering for the night, which sucked anyway since our oven broke and we had to defer some orders to another store. 

Oh well, i wanted it dead but not in this way.  292k miles, 71k from me.  Will the junkyard give me less money for it if i run a mag ov 7.62 through it beforehand?  Did i mention i hate Toyotadopes?  Do a search for Toyotadope posts under my name to see how i really feel.  Time to go looking for a cheap, gas sipping runabout.  One whose emblem is'nt intersecting ovals, wholly symbolizing the typical owner with hir head in the clouds.

so, you were following too closely in wet conditions for the truck YOU are in "control" of with no ABS system to stop in time and rear ended a car?  if you know your truck, why not stay back 50-75 feet to ensure these things don't happen?



of course you're at fault.  were you going to run the red if the corolla had gone through the yellow?

You’ll probably only get $200-$300 for it from the junkyard, so a few bullet holes shouldn’t cost you that much. However, I expect junkyards may be on the lookout for people trying to drop off a crime scene on them, so they might call the cops to check it out before they purchase it. If you really plan on shooting it up, get some video of you doing it to explain what happened.
I’ll have to look through your posts about this car to see where you’re coming from, but 300K is nothing to bitch about in my book. In fact, that would probably convince me to buy another Toyota.

I have no truck, i was not following too closely even for wet conditions, we could have both easily made the yellow, and i am not at fault by nature ov common sense.  The Toyotadope's parents were at fault for giving birth to her, and due to their decision i had to choose between hitting a tree, an opposing car, and a dumbass.  I obviously chose the latter.  I'm going to bed.

I have to agree.

Everyone is in a RUsh in the city I live in. Being tailgated is a daily fact of life.

It sucks BTW.

whatever the fuck your now defunct and soon to be junked delivery vehicle was because you're probably an asshole tailgating driver. 


so, again, you were following too closely to safely stop/maneuver your vehicle under wet conditions and are pissed about it.  if you weren't following too closely, you would've been able to stop.  THAT is what is clear in this situation.


grow the fuck up and accept that YOU are at fault and the cause of the accident.

Yeah with enough following distance there would have been time to stop. Though the other driver was stupid for ramming on the brakes without paying attention to what was behind them.

I towed my old half ton truck to the junkyard. It did not run. I got $126 or $186 for scrap metal price. This was about 3 years ago. I expect a compact car much less due to less weight.

Drain the gas, oil, tranny, coolant. Also they take $ off the value due to the tire disposal fee.
7.62 would actually boost the value if they don’t pass thru. Adds more weight

If you rear-end a vehicle, it is almost never the fault of the driver in car in front of you.

You're probably a Toyotadope and are offended.  What is clear to me is that i was in the accident while you were being an ignorant ass elsewhere.  I would love for a dash cam to have been involved actually.  If two cars are driving at similar speed and the one in front slams on their brakes for an emergency stop(which for a Toyotadope is a yellow light), the car behind only has the distance between them subtracted by the reaction time and inferiority ov its braking system to stop.  The latter overcame the former and the accident was unavoidable.  I did have time to manuver but not the option to because i would have crashed into other objects.  I am a PROFESSIONAL driver and know what i am doing and talking about.  Do not tell me to grow the fuck up when you are postulating based on the assumption that i do not want to take accountability.  I always admit to my mistakes and those who know my post history will know that the shroomery is not exempt from this honesty.  So scurry into your Toyota and fuck off.

If your brakes suck though you should be the one compensating more than anyone else. Really should it not be your responsibility to fix said braking system before the incident happened? I'm not blaming you, it does sound as if she acted poorly but at the same time there are things you could have done differently. So it sounds like it was mutual thing. Sucks you had to deal with that though, glad you're ok and all that.

I had a cop back into my car at a stop sign this past summer. There was a big unmarked truck at a stop sign on a side street and I pulled up behind him. I stopped, then he started moving forward, so I started moving forward. Then he stops and reverses hard in my fuckin' '07 Fusion(not really up for a truck beating). He had a hitch of course and it just mangled my front end. The body damage was so bad the insurance wrote off the car, gave me ~5k for it. I didn't even know it was a cop so I got out and yelled obscenities at the retard, who was basically like "NBD bro." Then I had to wait for the on duty cops to come and ask me why their buddy is scared to which I replied "Well maybe if he'd atleast fucking give me his insurance details and stop being a little pussy hiding in his truck I'd not have to remind him he's a fucking asshole." Not to mention I had my kids in the car. They ended up ticketing him for distracted driving and bunch of stupid shit. Probably nothing came of it. It ended up costing me a bunch of money because I had to find a damn new car

i wholeheartedly agree, but if you know you have no ABS and the roads are wet/slick, then it's operator error.  part of driving is planning ahead for any and all possible scenarios in effort to avoid this very thing the op experienced.

***edit:  even with ABS, the ABS system can and does fail when the brakes are slammed on, especially in wet/slick conditions.  it's not a guarantee or fool-proofed. /edit***


also, in some cities, you can be ticketed for "running" a yellow.  i know because my mom was ticketed for it and the judge wouldn't throw it out.  another friend had the same thing happen; he went through a yellow (one that holds for 3-5 seconds, not a quick one) and was given a ticket that the judge upheld.  legally you are supposed to slow down to stop at a yellow, not run through it and/or accelerate through it.
