I played that game it kicked ass.

I'm not sure what to suggest.

One Way Heroics is a pretty cool JRPG style roguelike.

Nuclear Throne is a pretty cool bullet hell style roguelike.

Elona+ is a pretty cool JRPG style roguelite.

Not sure if its "obscure" enough (judges?) but Viligante 8 for N64 was one of my favorite games of all time. All the wacky characters, there strange vehicles and the awesome car combat were just awesome! There was even a cheat for a UFO! Thanks V8 :wink:

Carmagandon for PC was also a "fucked up" car game thats sort of obscure :shrug:

Not sure how obscure it is but Oddworld: Munch's Oddysey for OG Xbox was a blast. Funny, unique, self aware. Odd. It was really quite great. And the fuzzles. Aww, the fuzzles.

Breath of Fire 3 for the Ps1
That game was my childhood. It's a final fantasy style game (think turn based combat) with neat mechanics and a very long story. Completely filled with little minigames and hidden items. I think I spent weeks worth of hours just fishing in it alone.

^This game always scared the shit out of me as a kid. I could never get through even one level without esc out cause it became too intense for me LOL

Another game for OP that I just thought of is Westwoods: "the legend of kyrandia: Malcolm's revenge" It was a dos game back in the early 90's that was a part of their "kyrandia" series. All the games are fantastic but this one for me was a stand out by how weirdly awesome it was.

Here is a small preview of it on YouTube without spoilers.



You can find it for free to download on many retro game websites and run it on Dosbox on basically any PC system made past like 1996.

Here is the spoiler video. You can watch the first 6 ish minutes of it without ruining the game.
