maybe you should take some of your own advice... dont talk if you dont know.. IMO salvia offers nothing but an inane annoying perception shift for a few minutes... during which time you are sweating profusely, paranoid about everything and slowly falling to the ground no matter how hard you try to stop.... DMT is sooooo vastely different... its my biggest pet pieve when people compare salvia to DMT...... worlds apart :sun:

well maybe you're right. like i said i just based it on what i know, which is my friend's account. i'll take your word for it man, you know your shit it seems. i just mentioned that because the salvia just really shook me up, however brief, inn a way mushrooms never have. peace

no big deal man.... everyone is entitled to their own opinion about salvia. personally i hate it, some love it... i just try not to bash it.... and i'll leave all the threads alone about it. i'm more than happy to discuss it with people who have done both salvia and dmt.

Any particular extract you would advocate looking into? When I get some time, I'm going to check out that dmt.lycaeum.org page, but it'd be helpful if I could learn from your experience...

dmt is very out there and can teach you the wholy fuck D: if used correctly.

Thanks very much for that link Merkaba... the process seems much easier than I had expected! I have to wait some time until I am in the best of mind states (once my freakin' exams are finished :grin: ), but then I will definitely give this a try... one question, though, and maybe ChinaCat might know - what levels of purity of crystals will this type of process result in? Certainly not as pure as a synthesis of the chemical would result in, but would the finished product result in a very similar experience as a synthetic, or would other compounds that might not get extracted have some effect on the experience?

Just trying to build my knowledge base!

Your question is one I have myself. I have never done an extract only synthetic. The synthetic we recieve is around 98% pure and we can get it in a base or salt.

The reason I was asking about extracts is I was interested in purity levels. I had heard that people were getting crystal's from and extract which is amazing.  Deepblue has confirmed this by describing his extracts. It would be cool if he had acsess to a GC/MS and could run a little through it. That way we could see what purity it was at and if it was just DMT or there are other alkaloids present.

Indeed it is exciting that these extracts are getting pure enough that people can have full blown experiances. The synthetic DMT out there(at least in my world) is just made for people already connected . There's enough made for the people who are long time users, but thats about it. There isn't ever going to be an increase in their production either. This makes the experiance unobtainable to some that can't get it. I realize why it's not made in bulk and spread around like LSD. It's definitly for a smaller crowd. But none the less there are people out there who want to explore this psychedelic who just can not even get close to it. IMO anybody who's experianced with psychedelics and wants to try it should be able to. Not just a elite group of people. The thing about these extracts is it allows anybody to be able to acsess this world. the fact that the person has to do it themselves implies they know a little about psychedelic's just becuase of having to research the plants used and how to do it.

This is why the extracts of DMT excite me. I am a firm believer that all responsible people who want to explore a drug should have acsess to it no matter what it is.
It's sad when anybody and their grandma can score crack in 5 minutes, but it can take a lifetime of searching for a sincere person to find DMT. Another nice thing about DMT is it's spread throughout nature. The psychedelic experiance will always be available no matter what the goverment wants. Now with the internet there fucked for sure. :grin:

I agree. People think that becuase there both powerful(in a different way) and smoked with a short duration that they are simliar. They are completlely different.
As you said worlds apart.

BTW thanks for the info on the extracts. Sounds like it resembles that that we used to get from the labs. It's probably got a decent purity level? When you smoke it do you whieght out say 50mg. and smoke or to you just toke till you can't anymore.
The desmanthus project sounds very cool. I wish you the most sucess possible. I hear Desmanthus is just mainly DMT and not other alkaloids?

Once I move to Copenhagen, I will be living in close proximity to a friend who studies organic chem. Not sure if he would have access to GC/MS equipment, or if he would be able to use it to analyze something that I give him, but I will certainly talk to him. It could make quite an interesting research report - testing the purity levels of different extraction methods. I'll keep ya posted!

and I'm sure that with pure heart, I'll encounter the right kind of people some day :gd_icon:

I have tried DMT that I extracted from phalaris grass. I shared it with a few people and we all got off but nowhere near what I was expecting. I can only surmise that the extraction was lackluster (yellowish crystals) or the dosages were too small. I would love to try it again.

I find it particularly interesting that noone has yet reported a negative experience here.

yes, desmanthus is reportedly all dmt... about .37 to .50 % by dried weight i believe. I have high hopes as well... considering i found all the plants growing right in my own backyard :grin: .... i figured it was a sign. the roots are all dried and ready to go.... so now that im talking about it again, i should get started real soon :cool:


debianlinux -    i doubt you got crystals from phalaris grass... you probably got some yellow gunk,, which may or may not have been slightly active with 5meodmt / dmt.  phalaris is crap man.. dont even waste your time with it.

We have that equipment on campus, but my acsess to it is limited.
They don't allow illegal drugs to be tested, unless the law asks them to identify something. I have made friends with a couple O chem grad students that can use it as they want though. They are very hesitant to use it for illegit rerasons though. I got them to test the purity of some Ibogaine recently and it wasn't an easy task to talk them into. They are pro-drug and very interested in my research, but I can't ask them to put there college careers on the line all the time.

It really sucks in the US that it's so hard to test illegal drugs. Some places test's them ,but DEA restrictions don't allow them to give the dosage amount of the sample, just the drug.

Maybe being overseas were things are more loose you could possibly get it done fairly easy. It would be cool to have a place that could recieve drugs and test the substance and identify the purity, strength and other byproducts it contains. I would love to be able to test some of the less pure LSD crystals and identify the impurity's. This info might make it possible to figure out how to make a better product by finding the reaction that is being performed incorrectly that is resulting in the impurity. This info in turn could be given to the lab who could fix it. This is all hypothetical of course. The way I see it the more we know about drugs the better. This includes knowing exactly what is contained in the illegal drugsbeing distributed. Just another fucked up part of our drug policy. It will be nice someday when we focus on harm reduction instead of enforcement. :sun:

Yeah I hear that Phalaris produces a crappy product. If I were wanting to make a extract I denfinatly wouldn't want a plant that contained 5-meo in addition to DMT.
5-meo is another intense drug that I find worthless. I couldn't imagine smoking a extract that contained both DMT and 5meo. It seams it would totaly ruin the experiance. Thats just a guess on my part though becuase I have never smoked DMT and 5-meo at the same time. I bought some 5-meo years ago and after giving it a couple trys flushed it.

The 5-MeO infact empowers and takes over the NN-DMT, when used,  thus giving you no NN DMT. :laugh: simple.

Yea but I guess, us westerners and people who are uneducated and inexperienced with such substances, and have pretty much never used it culturally simply cannot endure or learn from the experience, compared to some of the shamans who use it ritually.

It's sort of like comparing russians to other cultures. The russians have the genes to jump into below freezing waters, and have a social swim, while others would freeze their balls off and die.

i have 4 mimosa hostilis growing but i havent gotten around to start harvestin and extractin them yet. i want them to grow up more first for now.

anyways, to the first question , ive tried it and i love dmt, its very powerful.

also, if you was to use reed canary grass to make dmt wich allready stated contains 5meo dmt , how hard is it to seperate 5meodmt from dmt ?
