Glass Trouble

Figured this was as good a place as any to ask this. Say someone has a big old 5mm thick glass bong with a 22mm glass on glass down stem, and that downstem is hopelessly stuck in that hole. Like practically fused. How would one go about separating them with as little damage to the glassware as possible? Heating the down tube or whatever you want to call it did not work, filling the down stem with crushed ice to contract it did not work, and soaking in isopropyl was difficult and ultimately did not work. So what is a law abiding, tobacco in a water pipe smoking ‘Murican to do?

I first of all wouldn’t have a bong they are gross as fuck and if I did I’d take it and toss it in the trash before all that hassle

Plus like, what a colossal pain in the ass.  I’ve never had any such issue with a joint.  If it goes out you light it again.

Dawn dish soap(any dish soap will probably do but Dawn is that shit) and hot ass fuck running water from sink, and I mean turn up your water heater fucking hot,ok your welcome.

No pro here, but I would use any approach that takes advantage of differential expansion/contraction properties.

I'd start by heating exterior of the stem with torch lighter or blow torch, with cold ice water overfilled in the bong so that it is up inside the stem.

Soap in the chalice or on the joint? And I’m assuming hot water on the hole for the downstem?

This is essentially what I’d tried previously. I think the issue may not be with moisture or debris causing the seal to stick. I’m starting to worry that somebody jammed the fucking downstem into the thing and got it lodged. But we’ll see.

I haven’t busted this thing out in years, but the “water pipe solo” on Down’s “Hail the Leaf” had  me reminiscing about the olden days lol

This will break it.



Go to your sink, turn on hot ass water, dish soap all over everything your trying to get unstuck, run hot water through it, fuck with it and try to twist it before you pull it out, don't force it, repeat till it comes out, it will eventually. Depending on how gunked up you got it

As much as I love a good doob , they aren’t much better. They smell from a mile away like a stack of burning mail soaked in skunk juice, they run and burn fucked up and waste reefer even if its been masterfully rolled, and they always get that little turd of resin hanging out of the butthole of the joint by the midway point, and it gets all over your teeth and lips and shit. Shits neasty, me dude.

Np brother been there many a time with friends pieces, it has never failed. That resin is a bitch!!

And it's is a lovely toy and has a cool oil chamber that you can scoop a good bit of wax out of after a quarter or so you've ran through it. Clean Amber dabs.

Wish I would have known about it sooner. Dropped some loot on a nectar collector a few months back just because I was looking for something new. I would have gone for that thing had I known of its existence though lol

Indeed, it does oil and herb, makes a .2 of good feel like a whole j to the face, saves me $ cause I don't use as much.
