Michael Crichton

He ties alot of 'facts' into his book. So far I have read Congo, Jurrasic Park, and Timeline. My question is this: Are the factual things he puts in there actual facts? Let me list a few: A Tauranasarous Rex existed only during the last 15 million years of the dinosuars... Also, in Timeline he says ALOT of 'facts' about the 100 years war in france, is his information all made up? Or does he use actuall research. And in COngo he talks about alot of animal behavior research... Anyways, what do yall think.

Welll... He has enough money to hire researchers if he wants people to take him seriously...

Aparently not  anyways, for all of you who have read his books, I am on the last 50 pages of Jurrasic park, and am going to be going to the thrift store later to pick up another one of his works. I was thinking Sphere(sp?) or should I try another one? What is the best one in your opinion.

Andromeda Strain was pretty good. Sphere probably is too, but I haven't read it. Stay away from The Lost World! That piece of shit was a shameless cash-in on the success of the original.

If you like that kind of fact-based sci-fi, Arthur C. Clarke is an author I'd recommend.

I read Sphere when it first came out and was very impressed. That was the first Chrichton book I ever read and had me pretty interested throughout. Timeline was alright, but not spectacular, IMO.... The movie adaptations mangled both.

I thought timeline was the best book...although the movie really did suck....
