Ford told her counselor about the incident in 2012 and (as I understand it based on what I saw yesterday) has written record of that. She told her husband and various other friends as well.

Kavanaugh lied about having never blacked out during the hearing. He has written in timestamped emails that he got so drunk he blacked out.

During the hearing, he lied about being able to legally drink in Maryland in HS. He was 17 when the drinking age changed to 21 in Maryland.

His buddy Mike Judge wrote a book about how wasted and horny they were throughout HS, and goes into quite a lot of detail including using "Bart" Kavanaugh by name.

During the hearing, he said he didn't know if "Bart Kavanaugh" was him. That's a definite lie.

An ex-girlfriend of Mark Judge, Elizabeth Rasor, has said Judge once told her about an occasion when he and other boys took turns having sex with a drunken woman when he was in high school.

His Yale classmate Lynn Brookes said she was disappointed in his blatant lying during the hearing and that he was often incoherent and drunk

His Yale roommate James Roche (who is also good friends with the second accuser) said that he believes the accuser and that Kavanaugh was a drunk and he and his friends were definitely capable of it

Another Yale roommate, Kit Winter, said Kavanaugh was often wasted, and that their shared bathroom was constantly covered in vomit

Ford took a polygraph test and the results were "not indicative of deception"

Kavanaugh refused to take one. Even though in the past he wrote a decision as a judge saying that polygraphs are a valuable tool for background checks on federal employees

Ford wanted an official investigation.

Kavanaugh didn't.

If he was innocent, wouldn't he be comfortable with an investigation?

Wouldn't he want to clear his name?

Wouldn't he want his buddies to come tell everyone what a great guy he has always been?

The guy is a lying, worthless, entitled sack of shit.

He lied multiple times during a Senate hearing in front of his entire country.

Of course he shouldn't be a Supreme Court justice.

The idiots that think he should be a judge the same idiots that thought a reality TV star would make a strong president.

Kavanaugh would send any of us to federal prison without a second thought, but half of you people would suck a load out of his balls if Trump supported it. Fucking pathetic.

You make good points.
I think it's obvious Kavanaugh sexually assaulted Ford.
The way he answered the questions (more like how he didn't answer the questions) was weird and snake-like - made me uncomfortable.
He would trail off and seemed unsure of what he was saying; it shouldn't be hard to tell the truth, unless it'll make you look bad and not get put on the Supreme Court

he might be; i don't dispute that.  but there's nothing but hearsay and allegations against him

PROOF people, PROOF

and anyone who doesn't see the timing of all this as "politically motivated" is also an idiot.  the dems don't give two shits about this woman's supposed trauma.

We don't need "proof" of anything.

As highlighted above, regardless of whether the assault allegations are true or not, Kavanaugh did lie multiple times under oath yesterday.

That is an indisputable fact. He is not fit to be a judge at any level.

Wouldn't it be cool if the fact that a judge was a liar got him disqualified from their job. Doesn't work that way. We had a president who's wife helped him destroy the credibility and careers of women he victimized. The Clintons go deeper than just just Monica. She was candidate for president herself and people were excited about it. People are wildly inconsistent in their expectations of politicians and desire to care about what they have done. This is business as usual. Despite how sad it sounds Kavanaugh seems pretty fucking benign as far as evil politicians go. He maybe kinda raped someone. That's like a veggie tales episode when it comes to politician misconduct.

Yup. There's also plenty of "proof" he has a serious alcohol and gambling problem, multiple of his friends have talked about times he lost a ton of $ on dice and would get aggressive while drunk. There's the 200k he spent on "baseball tickets" which is a coincidental common money laundering tactic used in GOP circles.

Accusations aside dude is shady as fuck and shouldn't be a judge at all, let alone sit on the SC....

Or we could do away with lifetime appointments and allow people to directly vote for the SC.

The electorial college seems like a bigger issue, without the EC we wouldn't have gotten trump or bush. In fact  every R president for the past few decades only won thanks to the EC.

Which is ironic as the whole point of the EC was to prevent a sketchy con man like trump from getting elected in the first place.

And then the Republicans try to turn around and accuse the Democrats of being the cheaters.

And many Republicans actually believe it.

That's how stupid these people are.

Yeah, those darn cheatin' Dems.

Considering they keep losing elections the Dems must not be very good cheaters.

Please do not advocate inaction. The system will go on regardless.
The worst thing that could happen is those who see what’s going on be daunted into disengagement.

The whole point of the EC is to balance the political needs of smaller states with the overwhelming power of larger states.

And the whole point of primary elections is for people to vote their preferred party candidate to run in the general election. The Republicans were the only party out of the two major political parties to honor this in 2016.

voting is the worst possible thing an American can do for their country besides joining the military.

:whathesaid:

The system won't ever change if people just "stop fucking voting". We've already been complacent for too long, voting is the bare minimum we should all be putting into this democracy if we expect it to function at any reasonable level.

It's some really classic fascist projection. Accuse your enemies of everything you are doing, it works brilliantly to muddy the waters and confuse people. Doesn't even need any proof.

I forget who it's from but there was an old tactic by some sleezeball politician. He wanted to accuse his opponent of fucking pigs, his publicist said "Sir we can't just accuse your opponent of fucking pigs without any evidence". He just said "Yeah but we'll make the bastard deny it".

Which sadly is an effective tactic, even with 0 evidence denial makes headlines and stupid people who don't bother reading into things will think "well they denies similar accusations so something something both sides".

Except that now we have the opposite as no one could foresee how insane urbanization would get hundreds of years ago. Isolated people in remote areas with little to no world experience get more voting power then educated people in big cities.

Bernie lost, yes it was shitty, possibly unfair. But he lost. Hillary won the popular vote by 3 million and trump stole the election by 80k EC votes in 3 swing states. So don't talk about "voting for their preferred candidate"...

I was never a fan of Hillary by any means but at this point it seems 100% likely she would have been infinitely more competent then trump, at least she had political experience. Trump is a raging dumpster fire.

Assume you’re right and all the smart people stop voting because it’s such a terrible thing, guess who’s going to keep voting.
Even if their votes mean nothing at all it forces people to pay attention rather the isolating themselves in there own bubble of comfort.
It’s only natural to want to hid from and ignore this hideous contraption we’ve constructed but the proletariat must remain vigilant and ready, else all hope has failed.

That was a woefully inadequate refutation. I just told what the actual purpose of the electoral college is. You can stick with your made up version if you want to though.

And yes, the DNC colluded with Clinton's campaign to subvert their own party's democratic process. So every time some lib wants to talk about democratic integrity, I take comfort in knowing that they are full of shit from the get go.
