I spent so long trying to get black and white 2 to run on my new desktop But it just wouldn't work, lags pretty bad on my laptop so I was super excited... They need to make a sequel FFS, though pretty sure the studio is gone

that made me LOL, i know its weird how some old games are like this, im glad avp2 still works just fine on win7 64 and the online servers still active!

im running a special download of dungeon keeper/2 that was made to work as the cd just doesnt after xp i think, but ive not gotten round to playing b&w 2 again yet and was gearing up to soon having recently downloaded updates i had not known about and mods as well, we'll see if i get it running haha

a 3rd could be ok, might be pushing it though as its been done twice now the 2nd being a lot bigger and longer so had its moment i think but would play it for sure if it came out refreshed

It is really weird, both my computers run windows 7 but I guess BW2 just doesn't work with some of the newer components on my desktop... I tried torrenting it, then tried actually sending the files from my laptop to desktop and it still wouldn't work

Tried patching/updating it, modding it, etc. Wish it ran alright on my laptop, such a fun game... A sequel could be hit or miss but with how far games have come it could be amazing if done right. RTS games have come a long ways.

only option is to get a separate hard drive or partition and put xp on and dont go beyond sp2, i think 3 was ok for most things but i know logic 5.5 which is what got me into music production stopped working after sp 2 been on cubase since, some other games failed too

I tried Cult Simulator a few days ago and returned it. It's a card game that seemed fun, but it had a lot of timers and no instructions so I gave up. I bet its cool if you play through a few times.

There is a prison simulator that looked pretty good too. I always forget to buy that one.

Got Civ 5 on sale awhile back finally after eying it for awhile, definitely a great game/series. Not huge on turned based stuff but they did a good job with it. Have my game modded to have dragons/ogres and magical units as well as heros that level up and learn skills

Its a colony sim where you crashland on a planet on the outer, mostly lawless, rim and have to survive.  It has neat things like harvesting prisoners you capture for organs to sell or implant in your own pawns(sims) if they are sick.  You also can butcher animals OR people to cook into food, and use the 'leather' from them to make clothes and/or furniture.  Nearby settlement pissing you off?  Go kill em and turn em into hats, jackets, and chairs.

Rimworld is the shit. I love building huge fortress settlements.

It's also cool how sand box it can be, you can customize starting scenarios for unique stuff like say making everyone a cannibal or nudist. And you can do all sorts of stuff with the console, like spawn a ton of units to fight eachother. Plus with all the mods you can customize the gameplay a ton, add a bunch of turrets and play some TD esq defence, add weapons/ cyborg enhancements and make a brutal death squad to go raid other settlments, start a cult and sacrifice prisoners to the elder gods, or add star wars mods and fight the empire with light sabers and force powers

I cheat a lot when there's shit I don't want to deal with like infestations and psychic ships, I just lightning/bomb the fuck out of them with the console

Also was playing yesterday and noticed they added tornadoes now Was pretty cool to see though sketched me out, thankfully it steered clear of my base.

This would have been my dream game as a child, as the coolest things in the world were tractors and dinosaurs. Now they just need a dinosaur farming game..

I also remember the old flight simulator from the 90s. My grandfather used to play it and the flight combat games as well. It's really sad for me to think that that's all in the past now,.my grandfather is dead even.. life is short. It goes by so quickly. There are kids around now who don't know that we used to have our phones on the wall.
