I put these sensual trays in to fruiting 2 days ago:
These cluster of white dots sprouted up:
What are these? Inside the red circle?

Looks like young Trichoderma to me.
It's the Lion of the Fungi world, and Psilocybe cubensis is like a wounded Gazelle with it's foot stuck in a hole, and blind.
Trichoderma can be cut out and disposed of with relatively good success rates, at least it holds it off long enough to get a flush out.
But it always comes back. Just be sure to get rid of it before it turns green. Throwing it outside and hoping for the best is the most logical option, of course.

is throwing out the tray itself really necessary? a wash with bleach wont clean it enough for reuse?

You don't have to throw out the tray, just the stuff in it.
Yes bleach will work to clean it, as will alcohol, or hot water and soap.
Remember that mold spores are landing all over everything as we speak, you're breathing them into your lungs with the last breath you took.
Sterilizing a substrate container is pointless because the moment it's in open air, it's contaminated again.
To beat contamination is about colonizing the substrate before the contams do. They all end in contamination, it's just our goal to get a few flushes before that happens.

i ment the substrate. ive only tossed trays/totes that were too horrifying to open.
otherwise clean with soap and water like your dishes.
