I will soon be putting a magnet in my left ring finger * 1
    #25044217 -

Hey everyone, I'm getting ready to implant an N52 perylene coated magnet into my left ring finger. The idea is that once healed, the magnet binds with your nerves and you become able to sense magnetic fields (microwaves, electric stovetop, the secret government agencies polluting your mind, etc.)

If you're not familiar with the idea and/or procedure I highly suggest this video

Anyways, while Titanium Nitride coated disc magnets are the absolute preferred, perylene is used in pacemakers and magnets coated in it are the only ones available on the market. In order to buy such magnets I had to buy...a shitton (Hmu if you want some, i'll trade)
perylene is cool because unlike other coatings, it actually binds to the surrounding tissue.

So now that I have the magnets, I'm waiting on 2% lidocaine to numb my finger and 2% chlorhexidine for sterilizing a tourniquet and the magnet itself (pressure cooking would destroy the magnetism).

I'm super stoked about this- what do you guys think?

I once thought about doing this a while back. I actually forgot all about it. Thanks for reminding me, I should look into it again.

Lol I got the magnet hook up :crazy2::crazy2:

yeah the perylene apparently starts to flake a bit after 2 years but the magnet will likely be losing some of its magnetism by then anyways so idrc

I saw a video on Codys Lab where he gold plated his own N52 magnet and after I believe a year the gold plating wore off and his finger became infected. He ended up numbing his finger with an ice cube and cutting it out.

Oh gosh, yeah I saw that too. I gotta say pretty badass. Gold plates it right then and there and then shoves it into his hand no numbing agent or anything with a fucking mechanical pencil xD

dude's a fucking legend

Yeah, I respect that. I mess around with electronics a fair amount so It'll be useful to be able to tell whether current is running or not. Other than that I'm just extremely curious about what it will feel like haha

Sometimes when I'm super high on mushrooms I feel like am ultra aware of magnetism and electricity... I also believe in chakras and all that good stuff so I'm wondering if there will be any correlation. Probably not :P

I'd totally do this if it wasn't for the coatings failing and having to remove it. I'd honestly try to get my doctor to do it for me since he's trained in basic surgery. I wonder if he'd want to charge me for it though since I'm pretty damn sure this procedure isn't covered by government funded medical system

I'm friends with a guy who's been doing piercings since he was a teenager. I let him tattoo me with a piercing needle before, but I doubt he has any experience with implanting magnets.

so if you put your hand near electronics will it fuck them up or is it a fairly weak magnet?

Its actually the strongest type of magnet avalible but its so tiny that it won't really affect anything. Well maybe it could fuck up a CRT monitor.

Would like to see what happens if you were to come into contact with a powerful magnet.

The magnet is small enough yet powerful enough to where it will vibrate when it comes into contact with em fields. Your nerves are extremly sensitive and can detect these vibrations with increasing intensities to an accurate degree. Over time your brain treats this new sensation in your finger almost like a compleletly new sense. A sixth sense if you will. It is such a power sense that you can even feel the outlines of em fields around you and tell whether or not a device is running just by feeling the em fields it produces.

I think I remember seeing a video of a guy sticking a strong neodymium magnet to his finger. He said the expirence was painful but wasn't strong enough to rip the magnet out of his finger. I have heard various sources when it comes to MRIs and the outcome.

have had one for like 5 years  I think? or so. Becomes a nice party trick. But after a while it becomes as natural a sense as say hearing.

I'll try this. I already have everything except a coated magnet. Probably next winter when I can let it heal up. I'm wondering what it will be like walking by this GIGANTIC compressor at work the power cord is 4" diameter and we have to call the power generating unit to see if they can support the start up load.
