Have you guys made friends online that you felt were truely as genuine as irl friends?

I have made online friends that turned out worse for my mental health, but were and still have influence on me. Many people don't believe online relationships can be as meaningful as ones in person but I have to disagree.

I didn't initially come here for friendship, but seeing the different types of personality and genuineness everyone seems to radiate I won't be surprised if I do make some buddies I consider to be close friends.

You will find this community ripe with people who got a membership when they were 20 and are now 40 still doing the same drugs on the same grind. There a hundreds here who want to meet you in person! Just check out my ratings.

The one thing you can't do on here is meet people who will help you relocate and find a job. Hopefully one day. This site changes every day!

I dig meeting the folks from here. There are a few who I would consider friends even though I haven't met them though. PMs are a great way to get more personal with the chat too

Yes!

That is good. We need more of that. There are many positive aspects of this site. I have almost met many people on this site and also many have almost run into me.

There is a lot of people on this site that give the appearance this is a spoiled community of single moms that want to pose as their son and ask questions about drugs.

While I do understand this community represents those who question others about drugs I also believe that there should be some kind or educational value about the benefits of a community.

That is great to here. Spread the wealth!

i've met about 6 shroomery people IRL and am very good friends with 4 of them. pretty much all of the closest friendships i've maintained throughout my life have stemmed from this community.

i've even helped a few of them relocate by letting them stay with me for a while.

i havent been as active here lately as i was a few years ago but the general vibe of the community doesn't seem to have changed much. a lot of regulars from back then aren't around here anymore. but some are!

I've made loads of great friends via the Shroomery. Many I've met, many I haven't. In fact I met the fine gentleman who made the post before this just last weekend.

He was the fourteenth friend from this community I've met IRL.

Some of the best people I know are shroomerites. Some I've met off the boards, some I haven't yet and some I may never. They're still incredible people & I absolutely consider them friends. Hell, some of them have had my back through hard times more than people I've met in more conventional ways which I will always be incredibly grateful for.


Besides the Shroomery, one of my closest friends to this day is a woman I met when we were both kids on the old MSN message boards in the mid-late 90s.

I met Sheekle through the Shroomery and consider him a friend. We've hung out before, but live far away from each other. I've met about 30 to 50 Shroomerites and they have all been pretty cool people.

I would help someone move and give them a job if they seemed decent. I actually offered to help a Shroomerite in my area move to a new house a couple weeks ago.

I don't think online friends can replace irl friends. There's only so much emotion you can convey through text. But I don't really have many online friends so :shrug:. I did meet up with one shoomery member and we were pretty good friends for  like a year. I ended up catching him stealing from me so I don't talk to him anymore.

I have made quiet a few friends online over the past few years, some I'm still friends with to this day and some I had to cut off contact with because they were/became cancerous individuals that just drug me down.

I used to have quite a few good friends on Xbox live. Shared secrets and all that. I really enjoyed having people that didn't really know me irl to complain and talk to.
