Yeah I've been meaning to get a charging pad. That's just one more thing for me to remember to charge, and one more thing for me to lose . I'm the person that gets gifted keyfinders from multiple people over Christmas and proceeds to lose both of them before I can actually attach them to my keys.


It's fucking stupid but, it's a genuinely difficult aspect of my personality that has been hard to overcome. I do a lot of remote work and travel through the washington-dc corridor constantly for work, so it can be a doozy...I always have at least one laptop on me, but there's a huge disconnect between phones and I. It gets worse when I get stressed.

From a business perspective it's ingenious albeit very unethical, they found a way to milk their customers for as much as possible...

The sad part is they probably wouldn't pull BS like this if they didn't realize they can get away with it. But sadly a lot of apple fans are still defending them.

But I think this scandal has caused a lot of people to make the switch to something else, maybe if they lose enough customers they will try a better approach. Or they might just screw their remaining customers that much harder to make up for the losses Wouldn't be surprised either way sadly.

The other sad part is they almost certainly aren't the only company doing this with electronics. But they do seem like one of the worst cases especially for being a "fancy/expensive" brand.

I have seen a lot of apple fanboys saying "oh well android/Samsung probably do this too". Which even if it was true at least they don't charge obscene prices for all their products. They also don't make exclusive accessories so that you have to buy an overpriced charger/headset and other crap for every phone.

When I buy a phone all I need for it is a case and even that is just to be safe. My last phone was like 230$ including a nice case and it kicks ass even years later.

You should still give away or recycle older products of theirs, no reason to waste em if you already paid for em

But I feel your sentiment if I could punch Zuckerberg in the face I would in a heartbeat even though I never use facebook any more, he is still a major asshole just like apple...
