to promote world peace, you must eliminate greed. highly unlikely.

Facts changing doesn’t throw out my theory, if you knew science you would understand. Well technically it’s not the facts that change but our understanding of them. Like the sun around the earth. That went through a few models before we realized what is.

wrong. each model was wrong, until the last, and the latest TOE might be wrong, still. your understanding of the "fact" of a heliocentric universe was not a fact, it was WRONG.

Quote:
Facts change, because sometimes new evidence comes to light and when we test it and it work then a new model is formed. An elementary school kid knows that.

look who's backpedaling now. like i said, facts are not contingent on "truth" but our assumptions of the truth.

Quote:
So no, it also seems to me you don’t understand how science works.

that's you. you don't understand how science works. you don't understand how language works. you're going to be going in this loop for awhile...have fun.

Sigh, your incorrectness is giving me a headache.

Facts are truth. Truth is something I consider to be consistent. My posts still stand. Our understanding was actually accurate for a time, most people thought the sun revolves around the earth becuaee thats what it looked like. It wasn’t until much later that we learned it wasn’t. But the issue is far more complex than that. I don’t see this model of the solar system being overturned any time soon.

You don’t seem to argue. It was like when you lost the argument with nihilism a while back. You just kept asserting things without logic.

you mean the incomplete model, which is always being remade with new information, and is inconsistent in it's already developed state? we already have theories that propound the second law of thermodynamics is non-applicable to the actual current reigning theories concerning the universe, heat-death, ect...? that gravity is literally still not fully understood, and not actually a "fact" in how we understand it's workings? these are fundamentals in the modelling of our solar system workings.

Stephen Hawking brilliantly observed that entropy increases with time because we measure time in the direction in which entropy increases. thus the second law of thermodynamics constitutes a tautology. (also note the addition of the zeroth law of thermodynamics- an addition to help construe the laws as "stable".)

(the concept of entropic heat death is based on a tautological rule of inference, and is thus a capitulation to the first order logic prevalent in the first law of thermodynamics, and onwards, but is merely tautological in symbolic logic, and not in actuality- there are many contentions with both Heat Death Of The Universe & with the concept of entropy, in general, which you will ignore, Thanatos, and I WILL NOT)

Quotes are nice to help clarify, but I'm not too sure on the second law and tautologies, there seems to be a bit of muddying the water there. I don't known how merited these quotes are because I'm not that deep into physics but they don't appear to coincide with your statement that the second law is a tautology? At least not the second one.

Quote:
To treat a law or an axiom as a tautology is a strategic decision; it is to deny, for the time being, that the law is at risk in experiments.

Science of Mind: The Quest for Psychological Reality - pp. 95.

Quote:
Tautology is a name for a statement that is true for all variable inputs and its truth value does not depend on the reality, only on the form of the statement itself.

In physics we do not encounter tautologies, because it is not about language or form of statements, but about Nature. It works with empirical statements. Second law is an empirical law. It may be derived in probabilistic sense from mechanics (with certain assumptions), but it is not a tautology.

https://physics.stackexchange.com/questions/133006/is-the-second-law-of-thermodynamics-an-immense-tautology

As an alternative to the Big Bang theory the hyperspherical universe idea is certainly an interesting one.
Quote:
A hyperspherical universe would have a definite shape, although we cannot easily visualise it, and it would not have infinite extent and all the paradoxes and nonsense that go with the idea of infinite anything. However a hyperspherical universe would collapse in on itself, so Einstein added a fudge factor he called the cosmological constant which had anti-gravity effects to prevent it doing so. His looked grossly inelegant, so Godel suggested instead that it could remain stable if it rotated. However if it rotated in the same sort of way that planets rotate about stars then astronomers would easily notice the effect, and they hadn’t.

Then Hubble came up with the red-shift to distance relationship and the Hyperspherical Universe model became generally abandoned in favour of an Expanding Universe model. Finally the discovery of the CMBR seemed to settle the issue as evidence of the remnant of a primeval fireball following the Big Bang.

However several features of a hypersphere seem to have become overlooked in the rush to form a new theory and these features can account for the non-collapse of the universe, the red-shifts, and the CMBR. Moreover they can also explain the apparent acceleration of the apparent expansion, the apparently anomalous rotation of galaxies, and the mysterious deceleration of our space probes as well. This paper will deal with each of these effects in turn:
A ‘rotating’ universe. Godel found a solution to Einstein’s equations of general relativity that allowed for a rotating universe:

- - -

As Above, So Below, as Hermes Trismegistus apparently wrote on his Emerald Tablet.
I haven’t a clue how to derive the hyperspin equation: w = (2piGM/V)^1/2
from the fearsome field equations, but I have a strong intuitive feeling that it does constitute a valid and exact solution because it gives such a beautiful result with such explanatory power.

P.S. I suspect that the spacetime GR matrices may require a 6 x 6 rather than a 4 x 4 expression to allow a complete unification with quantum physics.

it's still based on incomplete and/or faulty information, all of which include the second law of thermodynamics.
