science is about the way we record methods that can be repeated in laboratory settings to reliably investigate nature and dispel mysteries.
studying the findings of science assures a good basic understanding of things.
occasionally scientific understandings lead to exciting theories that have not yet been investigated because of lack of suitable laboratory configuration to do so.

investigation is always key in science, not declarations of truth nor attestations of belief.

While I agree investigation is of key importance, is the goal behind such endeavours not to discover new or apparent truth? To discover what can be considered as fact?

And I would think a justification of belief is also of importance for consideration, like citing results and sources etc.

Wow, you seem to be off the deep end here.

Truth needs to hinge on fact, if truth is opinion then it isn’t truth it’s opinion. Also if it were opinion then the entire process of philosophy is worthless.

You’re digging yourself into a hole here.

Science doesn’t deal in capital T truth, just what the evidence shows at the time. What might be true at one point in time can be overturned later as new evidence comes to light. Old truth overturned by new truth. It works to get as accurate a picture it can with the tools it has, but it never claims certainty.

Their declarations seem to be more like strong suggestions to me. But for something that goes by good enough it does pretty well for itself.

Citing sources enables verification of methods used for the results, the scientific value is in the repeat-ability of the experiment. Belief is usually not in scope  unless the science establishes a laboratory in which belief can be isolated and tested appropriately; a few psychological experiments have set out in this direction - I have not looked into that area, nor do I find it that interesting.

You're fooled by the financial and political elite. They rule your sad existence.

With humane word leaders there would be world peace.

You = sheeple.

Stand up and say NO to this madness.

But oh no, you won't do it, cause you're one amongst the masses/sheeple, AKA. asleep.

I believe everyone here already told you world peace is a pipe dream, not my fault you refuse to see it.

Sigh, there is such a thing as capital T truth and lowercase t truth. Capital T tends to be absolutes when people refer to it. Death being such truth.

Facts changing doesn’t throw out my theory, if you knew science you would understand. Well technically it’s not the facts that change but our understanding of them. Like the sun around the earth. That went through a few models before we realized what is.

Facts change, because sometimes new evidence comes to light and when we test it and it work then a new model is formed. An elementary school kid knows that.

So no, it also seems to me you don’t understand how science works.

to promote world peace, you must eliminate greed. highly unlikely.

wrong. each model was wrong, until the last, and the latest TOE might be wrong, still. your understanding of the "fact" of a heliocentric universe was not a fact, it was WRONG.

look who's backpedaling now. like i said, facts are not contingent on "truth" but our assumptions of the truth.

that's you. you don't understand how science works. you don't understand how language works. you're going to be going in this loop for awhile...have fun.

I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing to have a belief in the value of the repeatability of the experiment for justifying belief.
Like Lenski's long term E.coli experiment helps me to justify a belief in evolution as its trends can be observed in laboratory conditions.
