Oh I skateboard, I go hard as fuck, I dont skate sober though. I don't do tricks though unless you consider bouncing off of the pavement as a trick, if so Im pretty good at that.

I skated from like 12-24. Was fairly serious with it. Quit before I needed reconstructive surgery or anything like most of my friends.
After I saw my friend try to bust a move down 22 stairs, fuck the landing and completely shatter his ankle into a thousand pieces, that was when I had enough.
I got hurt plenty but I never got anything worse than a fracture, I was pretty lucky. Was fun while it lasted.

It is, but it pisses me off cause I normally skate with beer in hand, when I fall I dont drop it but some spills. Also beers in the pocket sometime fall out and get puncture marks on the can so you gotta shotgun them real fast. Ive done a frontflip off my skateboard while falling once, if I didn't I think I would have lost a few teeth or maybe broke my neck, all in a days worth of fun!

I dont currently skate though, one to many times being drunk as fuck and skating in the rain rusted the fuck out of my bearings. Oh well, probably a good thing, was a lot of fun.

it aint even about going big anymore..

it's about challenging urself however big or small the obstacle may be.. sum peeps need to climb mountains to see, yet others can see from the ground..

My brother was a skateboarder, like he actually wanted to compete at some point and he taught himself a lot of crazy shit. I tried to learn, I just can't do it. Put me on a BMX or in some Rollerblades and you won't be able to stop me, but skateboarding I could just never get right. I couldn't even get the ollie down. I tried and tried as well... Sometimes I think there are certain concepts that our brains will just never be able to grasp for whatever reason.

I used to skateboard as a kid. Never got too into it like some of my friends. I could ollie but I couldn't do any tricks. I cracked the bone in my forearm trying to grind a rail once. It hurt like fuck and I couldn't fully close my hand for half of a year. I didn't go to the hospital for it because I have a phobia for hospitals and surgery and shit.

I haven't really skated since. I still own a skateboard and ride up and down my street on it every now and then for old times sake.

Nah man I'm 35. I stopped skating over 10 years ago, it's not like riding a bike and I'm not as invincible as I was. If you don't continually ride, people my age don't really skate unless they never stopped.
It wasn't about going big, for me it was just always about going beyond my limits and challenging myself. And of course that just continued to escalate.. Rodney Mullen was my hero.
It was great and I was actually pretty damn good, but I'm done with it now. Snowboarding however, I still do that.

I did try lol. I probably spent months on a board, practicing and busting my ass all the fucking time. It just never worked for me. Back then on a BMX, the bike might as well of been my feet because I could navigate virtually anything I could walk on. Same goes for rollerblades although those kind of have the added benefit of actually being attached to your feet, still navigating stuff isn't always as easy as it would be if you were just walking because of the way the wheels behave on different surfaces and stuff. Still requires a lot of balance practice.

btw i've had the pleasure of seeing peeps that'd looked to be around the age of 80 wearing full gear skating at the skatepark.. i remember this one dood looked just like "blue" from the movie old school..
