Salvia Leaf

My mate has 1/2 oz of it and we are try it. I was just wondering what is the best way to take it. I hear that you need a pipe (not water????) with a new cone piece as you do not want any other substance in the pipe counter acting the salvia. Light with a butane lighter and hold the smoke for as long as possible.

Is this correct?

Also whats this about "the salvia must get to know you? does this mean I might have to smoke a oz of leaf before I can get anything from it?

I'd recommend a gravity bong. Alot of people who dont have patience dont break through on foliage...  but if you cared to make an extract with it, I'll tell you

Butane lighters arent mandatory if you have a good extract...  and as for the getting to know salvia...  salvia is THE strongest natural hallucinogen known to man, so show a little respect :smile:  Alot of people like myself are shot WAY out there by the substance...  If I'm really trying to trip, It usually hits me before I set the bowl down...  It's a very familiar so don't be too scared...    just dont hurt yourself :smile:

yeah, you defianently need a water pipe (bong) so it can cool the smoke down and you can take long, bigger hits.

well its better to use a water bong, a normal pipe just doesnt work too well cuz the smoke is too harsh and hot..Take your dose in three hits or less preferably, and hold your hits for at least 15 seconds, but not more than like 25 seconds, longer is just useless...

You can sure get a nice little trip from leaf, but some people report almost no effects. It's different from everyone. But you sure wont have a full blown trip...If you want that well make a simple polar extraction with your leaf, takes like 2 days and you will get about 1.3 grams of potent 10x extract...

I would say go for the extract. Reg. dried leaf just gives me a slight stoned feeling, but the extract is just a complete mind fuck. peace......

DMT is pretty out there, but we're talking potency per molecule, and theres a few RCs inbetween salvia and DMT.... salvia is second only to acid per weight right now

Weelll... whether it's the strongest or the second strongest, it still has the power totake you 'elsewhere'...

A butane torch or similar is recommended for straight leaf (I have only ever smoked extract).

Personally, I think you're starting at the right place. Salvia is STRONG and scary to most (including me). Use a bong (you don't have to worry so much about other residues in the cone... you have more to worry about with salvia residue in the cone when you go to smoke something else).

I have my own "JUst Salvia" bong. Its good because it doesn't have any other substances to counteract with the salvia.

what exactly is a butane lighter? is it just one of those plain lighters you can buy at liquor stores for like 99 cents?

Butane is the lighter fluid that it uses. It's the liquid that you put in Zippo lighters. Zippo's are pretty cheap these days, so if you want a butane lighter, just get a Zippo so you can refill it whenever you like.

The whole "this is what I need..a seperate pipe, a new lighter, bla" thing is good to build up the specialness of salvia. Make it kind of ritualistic. But personally, I have little trouble getting completely crazy experiences with regular leaf and a decent bong. Take big slow hits, hold them in as long as you can. Easy as that. Go slow. Build up a little experience with it..breaking in slowly. You'll break through completely at some point soon enough.
