That's exactly the line of reasoning that is going to be used to help convince people to get it.  It's called conditioning. 

They're also going to hit hard on the fear of losing a child, convincing you that chipping them is going to keep them safer than not being chipped.

I completely agree with you, I'd die before I got one. I just wanted to point out the similarities, our phones are practically microchips and they are changing our entire species. We will slowly start to merge with our smartphones and eventually they will be completely in our brains.

I just thought of an alternative. What if they weren't implants at all? What if they sat on the surface of the skin? Maybe a kind of small temporary sticker, or some kind of readable, transparent spray that is encoded to your details? This would make it temporary and removable so you don't have to go to a doctor to have it removed, while still having that tangible, thievable aspect of a wallet.

I suppose even, maybe an accessory. I'm imagining a kind of "free glove" that would be worn on the hand but without covering the fingers and thumb.

All of these would have the same features as the supposed chip but not be a semi-permanent endeavour.

I would be down for something like that. Its logical, something the government isnt, thus they wont sleep until we all have a chip UNDER the skin. You guys...this isnt about convenience..its about being able to tax every dollar and having everyone under 1 umbrella. They dont want people who can escape from under the umbrella thats why they wont stop until every person has a sub-dermal chip.

We're already taxed as it is in just about everything. They gonna 'watch' people in case they pick up a side job and don't report the extra income :lol:?  What exactly are they keeping us from escaping from? Everything is online now. If they want to look into someone they'll just use online resources. Not manipulate the masses into installing a fucking microchip

If all money goes through the chips then no more under the table jobs...no more selling some shrooms for extra cash...nothing. Every transaction will go through the chip thus everything is taxed. Not that hard to understand unless im missing something.

:whathesaid: The end game with chips is going to be digital currency, essentially a debit card, embedded into your body. Given enough time this will put an end to earning money under the table and even quietly gifting people money. The government (well really the bankers who own our government) will finally have total control over everyone's income. You won't be able to dodge bills, taxes, fines, or anything like that because physical money will no longer exist. If this ever happens imagine how hard it would be to buy or sell anything the almighty government has decided you cannot possess. Basically it's the perfect solution for covertly enslaving a gullible populace.

Look at how much people already rely on credit cards and loans. It could happen a lot sooner then you might think.

Take bitcoin and other similar currencies for example as well, they haven't been around too long and are already pretty damn popular.

Hell wallmart has bitcoin ATM's so I have heard.

People already use credit cards daily and that's pretty much the same concept. Moving to digital currency seems like the next logical step (no pun intended). Either way you're getting paid with "nothing". Paper money is just as worthless as the numbers on an ATM screen until you spend it. The illusion of value is the only thing keeping this boat from sinking.

I guess that's subjective or a matter of semantics but I would argue it's absolutely an illusion.

Anything that can be traded for something else you want has value.  That's the definition of it.  Otherwise, nothing has value and the word is meaningless.

True. Good point about the credit/debit card.

But those cards are tied to banks. Not sure how the chips would connect to banks. I guess it could work :shrug:

I would guess many, many people would reject the idea of inbedded credit chips and it would never go mainstream like debit/credit cards.

It's an illusion in the sense that when nobody is willing to accept it it's useless to you. I'd rather have a can of food than a piece of paper that says "lots of food" on it. Back when paper currency was redeemable in gold or silver it had real value, but now they can print it as much as they damn well please because it's backed by nothing.

Yes but the value is what we make it. What happens when no one wants what you have to trade? Or the value steadily depreciates until it's pretty much worthless.

Take a new car for example, it might be worth a lot but what happens when you need to sell it for whatever reason and no one wants to buy it?

Does the car then have 0 value even though you just bought it off a new car lot for a huge chunk of money?

To me value is more about how useful something is. Something could be super expensive and totally useless and personally it wouldn't have much value to me.
