meat pies

we have:
plain meat pies
curry
steak &mushroom
tomato
pie& peas
pepper pies
steak & kidney
i love em

we live on these pies,they're about the size of a tea plate=one serving
chicken pies yeah we have them too
if you can eat it,we've made a pie out of it :tongue:

oooh no! anyone ever been through northen louisana like nacitoshes? (sp) there meat pies are the best! i wouldnt want any kangaroo in mine :P

I have never had a meat pie, I have heard of meat pies but never tasted one... Shepards pie is the closest thing I have come to one hah, does that count?

When I visited england they have a lot of meat pies there. It nice to have some savory pies like steak and kidney and pork pie. They're really good and really filling. Its just not something you see around in the US.

eve69: it wouldn't be worth it cause they're so easy to make,
I think there is something about the meat trade between us that would stop them anyway,
All you need is some:

Pastry
Meat(steak,chuck or mince,chicken)
Some gravy(roast chicken gravy for the chicken) and some thickening agent like flour and thats the base.

Cook it up like a stir fry then add peppercorns or a slice of tomato etc. Make it like a normal apple pie with a pastry lid(sometimes we use puff pastry for the top lid of the pie to get it to rise and crispy).
Put a couple of holes in the lid with a fork and cook in the oven for half an hour or till cooked.

enlightened: they count as a good pie,they have potato on top i think.

daussaulit:I've seen those pork pies on the cooking channel,
I havent had one yet.

lol kangaroo pie

We have these new ones now(not that new)
Its filled with chunks of meat and a hunk of cheese that melts through when its cooked
