I was actually in an online game when someone mentioned it. At first I thought he meant dude from STP and he was just super late or was just a prank to go make everyone look. Was gonna check it out afterwards but forgot.

They were just in the middle of making a new album too. I wonder how far they got with it, I wonder if this is the end or if they'll just try to replace him.

It's the end as far as I'm concerned. I won't listen to any new Alice In Chains or Stone Temple Pilots. Not the same. Layne, Scott, and Chris were the best singers in rock in years. And now they're all gone. This hits home.

Though it's not surprising so many of our celebrities keep dropping out. We're getting fucking old. I know 52 isn't very old but it is for the kind of strain being a rockstar will put on ya.

Chris Cornell was always one of my greats.. before Audioslave I was a big Soundgarden fan. Then Audioslave did their thing and I got all their albums as soon as they came out. I was just listening to those CDs yesterday or the day before, thinking about how that shaped my youth. Fuck. I want this to be a joke. Life is too short guys.

Damn shitty news. I remember first appreciating his music in the 90s as a kid, especially when I first picked up the guitar/got lessons.

My guitar teacher back in the day spoke highly of him...how he had started off mastering blues/jazz classics, how he (like many other good musicians/guitarists) would lock himself in a room and play guitar for hours

My two favorite songs would be black days and pretty noose
