Medicine wheels, mantras, images and such.

I created the Medicine Buddha Mantra thread a while back, and this mantra / Buddhis important to me today still - also known as the Lapis Lazuli Buddha..  (I'm lookin that up...) more precisely, the 'King of Medicine Buddha and Lapis Lazuli Light', I'm glad I did because that is very regal and elegant sounding.

The Pure Land associated with him is called the 'Pure Lapis Lazuli'; and, this wouldn't be complete without a portraiture, so..



I will go look one up.

Now, it is said that seeing or hearing this Buddha's name or image is tremendously healing, beneficial and meritous, as it removes an almost unlimited amount of karma, as well as provides immediate healing and relief.

The name and mantra are also there, I can share them at a later date (or, many or most may know them, and of course, feel free to share.)



The Medicine Wheel comes from American Indians - this one is from Lakota - and ususually has some combination of red, yellow, white and black colors, with a cross in the middle..

Please jump in with added or fuller info, as I just an interested party, and not a master of it..

As Thoth is known as the god of knowledge and healing, I thought it would be appropriate..

Yes, but I mentioned him incidentally mainly.  Thinking more of Native American ones ..

Isis is another - Goddess of magic, marriage, healing and protection.

Osiris of course, her husband, is connected.  God of the afterlife and underworld.

In Egyptian mythos,

The underworld is a place of life... For instance, there are growing things, plants, animals, etc.

Green is a color Osiris wears, and green is significant as renewal, and life.

I'd like to talk about First People medicine if anyone would be interested.  That is - Lakota, Sioux, American Indians..
