The two strains might well end up competing for the same nutrients. They could spend all their energy trying to out colonize each other and refuse to fruit optimally. Of course, since they are the same species, they might just grown together and fruit normally with two different kinds of fruits. If you have the spores to spare, try it in a few jars. If you don't have a ton of extra spore coming out of your ass, don't risk them.

My friend of a friend tried it once. To be honest it was his only attempt at growing cakes. He made 12 jars, 5 with with one strain, and 6 with another, he took his one remaining jar and injected spores into each side. The 11 jars with one type in of strian were all cased into baking trays. The jar with 2 strains were put into a very poor mans terrarium (a 2 liter bottle) with a vermiculite on the bottom. He sprayed it often enough to keep condensation on the sides. He didn't fan it often though. It never pinned. Ended up making tea out of it. He liked it. Thats it.
