I have alergic rinitis, October and December are months with shitloads of spores floating in the air, consider that. Also, Spring afects my respiratory system the same way.
Mycelium does not produce spores, the mushrooms do. If you have any alergic reaction to mycelium it would be cutaneous (if you touch it) not oral.
Anyway, take care and try not to breath any contamined cake, they also could be a source of allergies.

I'm with MAIA...I get the same thing...Thought it was related to the jars, because it was worse this year than usual...But now my symptoms are subsiding and the jars keep coming...I doubt the mycellium has anything to do with it...

but to answer your question, yes people could have allergies to more or less anything. if you remember many years ago there was some psycho woman (now this could be theorized as having to do with a physical represntation of a psychosysmatic symptom , because the mind is a very powerful organ) that showed strong reactions ( i wouldnt calle them allergic reactions) like increased heart rate and blood pressure, etc... when she heard some womans voice. so again, people/animals can more or less be allergic to anything or can have allergies after long term exposure, while others lose the allergy after long term exporsure,
