Edit: found it. Still you can only inherit XX or XY chromosomes so i dont see how non-binary gemders are biological.

You know there are 23 human chromosomes, right? Do you also realize that the shape of the Y chromosome doesn't describe the contents of its genetic information at all? Do you understand the concept of genetic crossover?

But only x and y chromosomes are linked to sex. One might even call it a binary system.

What I really asked was "If I told you why you were wrong, would you be able to understand the answer?" and you just confirmed my suspicion that you would not.

Do you believe that the identities of nonbinary people are a fabrication?

I have no clue. I am not non-binary.

I just noticed that you said gender somes from biology and there are only two biological sexes so i was curious about your opinion.

The chromosome thing doesnt even matter. The fact that there are two biological sexes matters because if gender is biological then that makes it binary. Im not saying it is or isnt binary but what you said implyed that it is.

There are not in reality two distinct biological sexes. That's kinda my point. That's an idea we just made up to simplify a much more complex natural system, brutally at the expense of people who don't naturally conform to it.

And im not even saying whether non-binary people do exist or dont exist i am just pointing out SRs inconsistency. Im not saying one way or the other so what am i doing wrong?

But according to enil's argument gender has no biological basis. I havent said which one i beleive to be true so how can i be right or wrong?

I saw your answer. You said biological gender is non-binary and we say it is binary to make it easier for people that dont fit into a binary system. Fine. I just see no evidence for that. Just because you gave your answer doesnt mean it is fact.

Im melting? Lol im debating. you were complaining that the mods were tolerating this thread in which no rules have been broken.

Well there's 2 sexes in the dictionary of medicine but there is also intersex or hermaphrodites. Where a person can posess sexual organs of both sexes. As such there is several genes that contribute to the presentation of sex. Because of that there is also a biological reason for being a different gender than the one assigned at birth.


There is biological reason for being a different "race" than one appears as well.


But there is also numerous psychological reasons for both.

Being unable to differentiate the 2, psychological or biological, in the medical dictionary adds up to confusion. When we advance enough to determine these biological and physical precursors... Maybe there should be a third sex. A cross sex. Afterall there are tons of medical terms for things that do not fit under other medical terms.

Either way it would be a tremendous aid to doctors who NEED to differentiate between a person who is truly trans or just simply confused. It is hardly unheard of for a person to begin transition or even have gender reassignment surgery and change their mind. It's like believing you are gay when you are not because you don't understand your own psychology well enough.



It is more than socially constructed. It is also biologically constructed. Unfortunately we can't or don't often notice all but the most obvious forms of intersex and what would be a physical cross gender.

I dont see how biological gender is non-binary.

You used stated your argument but gave no evidence to support that argument.

"gender is non-binary" is your argument. Not evidence for your argument. You cant just make statements and call them evidence.
