My favorite film of all-time, and yeah I know it's cliche because I'm into psychedelics and this is a drug based board -- whatever, but my favorite film is Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas. I saw it the week it came out in theaters. Tripping on acid. I talked all my friends into going because I saw the trailer and some scenes of it on Siskel & Ebert, and I could tell from the very first clip that it was going to be a total trip flick. We had some really, really good white on white blotters, dosed them, and went.

Fell in love with it the first time I saw it.

I bought the blu-ray the moment it was available, and I've probably seen the shit like literally 200 fucking times. Idk, maybe more. It just never, ever gets old to me. I am the ultimate Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas nerd.

Anyway, I came across a memorabilia site that's selling a Fear & Loathing movie poster with the autographs of Johnny Depp, Benicio Del Toro, Tobey Maguire, Ellen Barkin, Gary Busey, and Christina Ricci. Complete with a certificate of authenticity.

For $200.

Should I get it? Would any of y'all pay that amount of money for an autographed poster of your all-time favorite film?

I've never paid for an autographed anything, but might be willing to for the right item.

I've always thought it would be cool to own a neat screen-used prop. For example, this dude owns the lizard tail that Depp wore in Fear & Loathing. I don't think he's listed it for sale, however.

But yeah man, if you want the poster, get it. It'd be a good conversation piece.

Edit: Niffla, found the best of both worlds. Buy an autographed screen-used Baseketball.

Dude!! That would be such a trip watching the movie at home, seeing the scene where Depp is wearing the tail, and then to be over to look down at the actual prop that he wore right next to you...

Nah not really. That's not something I'd appreciate owning so would only be owning it for the investment (like waiting for Depp to kick the bucket which would probably make the poster quite a bit more valuable) and it'd just be stored somewhere, where it couldn't get damaged.

Then again, I'm not really the autograph type anyways. Even if I saw a celebrity I liked in person, didn't have horrendous social anxiety and talked to them, I probably still wouldn't ask for the autograph unless it was for the same reasons as above :lol:

and since it's not something I'd likely be thinking about in that moment I just wouldn't end up asking for the autograph.

Actually I'm not even the type that really cares much about ever even seeing or meeting a celebrity, or collecting celebrity memorabilia, it's never interested me. They're just people to me, whether that's just some grounded outlook I have on life or because all people I don't know make my brain go "Danger, unidentified person, do not engage, avoid, avoid, RUN!" I really don't know.

If you get an autographed poster of a movie with major stars of the generation that is rich today, such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, something like The Maltese Falcon, the original Ocean's 11 featuring the Rat Pack or Casablanca you could turn that right around and make thousands.

I took a look around. You can get them cheaper than 200. A lot are around 150-ish.

It will cost another $200 to get it framed, unless you want to just jam a tack through it.

I started to buy autographed blotter a while ago. They look pretty nifty. Not sure how their value is holding up though.

That is awesome.

It's not La-Z-Boy, but rather one of the balls used by non-Trey Parker characters throughout the movie. Still pretty cool IMO. I bet THE Baseketball is owned by Parker, Stone, or someone very close to them and probably won't be on the market for a while.
