he has a personal stick up his ass, and has for decades, about how his pursuits get tracked by journalists.

That is the trumpist spin. The reality is CNN, MSNNC, FOX have their highest ratings in years. The New York Times has been getting ten times the number of subscriptions compared to the same quarter last year.
