It's normal for them to get slimey. My friend used to dry them first then put them in honey but putting them in fresh shouldn't hurt. It shouldn't matter if they're in the fridge or not. The honey acts as an excellent preservative and should keep your stuff for quite a while (I've seen some last over a year w/ this method).

You are wrong... you should dry them then place in honey... if placed in honey when fresh the water of the shrooms will dilute the honey and they rot

You might be right. I figured since a teaspoon of honey is enough to "protect" a 1/2 pint jar full of mycelium water in the honey tek... On top of that, the shrooms would be effectively sealed from the air once encased. Of course, they may bring contams with them.
