Stir Fry Question

Alas, due to my ineptitude in the ways of culinary arts, I must ask you good people a question. I did a search and came up with nothing.
What are your recommendations on what to put in a stir fry? Such as what vegetables, spices, mushrooms, etc?
Thanks

this may be the the college student in me, but I always use a stir-fry sauce from the supermarket...
AS for veggies! I like cauliflower, broccoli, red and yellow peppers...snow peas or snap peas...kale...what else...mushrooms, baby ones...whatever you like!

make yer self some mu shu pork, JSlice style. stir fry: terriyaki pork tenderloin (chopped up into little chunks, pan fried untill change in color, poured into a bowl and treated with some sauce, i use soy sauce and a tiny bit of sesame oil, then into the stir fry it goes) 1 egg (cook it in the pan and spread it out real real thin, than take it out and slice it up to throw back in in small chunks) 1 bag broccoli slaw 1 little can water chestnuts 1 big can baby corn some soy sauce stir fry sauce you can add pretty much anything to this, but thats the basic gist of it. serve in warm soft flour tortilla shells with plum sauce. i really like brocolli slaw in stir frys, it cooks down alot and really adds some extra grit to the meal. as far as other veggies...anything that you can get "baby" versions of tends to do well in stir fry. ~JSlice~

Yes vegetables, spices, mushrooms, etc?
Try that.
Only way you can go wrong with stir fry is to use low heat.. You need things as hot as they can get.
Plus you should do things in batches.. Meat first, set aside, vegetables next. The sometimes if things arent hot enough Ill remove the vegies for a minute to get the pan hot and add everything for one last quick stir fry.

Do what GabbaDj said, and try some snowpeas, and if you want that glaze like take out chinese, then mix 1 large tsp corn starch with 1/8 cup (or a little more, but not too much) of milk. then pour a little bit of this mixture at a time until you reach the consistancy you want. Do this about 5 minutes before serving. It will thicken up while mixing.
