Les Stroud is legit. He told the Discovery Channel that they had to be hands off and let him do it right or not at all. They ended up letting him do it the right way. Otherwise it would have been just another pre-scripted, splice and dice, steaming pile of reality show.

He legit sets up camera and walks back to get it and do it all over and over. That's a lot of work and calories burned when he does that. Bear does stuff that will get you parasites* and infections. Like squeezing water out of poo and eating raw meats* especially fish, and of course drinking without boiling. That kind of shit will kill you

Never seen that one.

Check it out.

Dont know the name or details. I think they are in Australia.

Whats crazy is the woman who got burned saw a doctor (camping nearby) and the doc lady said "If this burn gets infected, u could die" and the woman was like "Ok, i want to continue". Got to give her mad respect for risking her life for a TV show.

On that note, it was be awesome to see a celeb version of Naked and Afraid. Talk about high ratings!!!

It's okay. It's basically Man vs Wild except with celebs joining him.

I like the survival stuff but it's hard for me to get into it if I know it's very likely scripted. Survivorman (Les Stroud) was freaking great. I loved how he went by himself and filmed everything on his own...no camera crew.

I agree he seems cool. And regaurdless of whether or not he eats off camera or if the celeb puts on makeup, Bear Grylls is a badass and on his original survival show he did forsure do things that only someone who needs to do those things to survive would do. I love survivals shows and follow every show. Bear Grylls best show Imo is the one he made right before this one he made. It was about how people almost died doing something and he recreates it!

Except he shows you how they could of survived without losing a leg. Seriously one of the guys lost his leg and he recreated the incident and showed how you'd escape . This other guy had to jump off a 70ft cliff and he grabbed on to a tree and slid down breaking branches and shit.

Les Stroud is a great survivalist. He also has two spinoff of his shows that are awesome. There's one where he explores how the indigenous survived in the oldest recorded ways by people who keep the tradition alive.

Then there naked and afraid which is just interesting to see how naked noobs do it and there's dual survival which used to be someone who lived in the wilderness for decades and a green beret. Now I shot you not they just have previous naked and afraid winners  they butchered that show. Then there is a show called "Alone" and they took like 10-15 people and put em about 5 miles apart and they stay for months. I haven't seen many episodes of that though.

Yeah. A Brit having to 'gay it up' to keep the attention of an American audience brought up on hype.

I'd never seen the mans programmes before and so 'tubed' an episode.
Fast forwarded past the hype of the intro to get to his presentation style...:nonono:
His voice sounds more like he's advertising some brand of aftershave than presenting a programme on survival.
I seriously, lost all interest within a minute, and sure as shit won't be bothering with his 'tubes' in the future.

Far rather watch Ray Meares' more down to earth approach to survival type programme making anyway.

Bahahahaha.

I never got into Grylls' original show and am not interested in watching this one. Survivorman is better but not great IMO. Sure it's got the authenticity factor going for it, but I don't find it particularly educational and Stroud always seems to spend a lot of time whining about the shitty conditions. Someone on here recommended "Dual Survival" a couple years ago and I found that show a lot more interesting than Survivorman.
