in the south we dont have to deal with snow loads like the north does, the only
time to step up to a 19.2 or a 16 is if it's specified by the architect, the
home owner of if it's required by some special project being done.

or maybe the south is just a bunch of cheap ass backward builders, which I tend to
believe having worked for and followed a number of them

I'm 5500 feet above sea level. The weather is insane here. Spent 3 days tearing up a roof at 90 degrees. I'm tan as fuck.  Than it dumped snow for 2 days straight. A lot of the trusses are going to around here. That's why there all complicated as fuck. Fucking weird ass weather being almost a mile in the sky.

Seriously, it's working out real well in Seattle. $15hr is a bare min reasonable wage in  the US


The problem with that is the cost of everything in Seattle is going way the fuck up. I was living in Seattle and paying 600$ a month just to rent a 12x12 room in somebody else's house. You feel like your making more but you really aren't at all. As everything is that much more expensive. A profitable business does not cut profit. Ever.

Raise the cost they have to pay the consumer takes the hit.


Your rent costs are irrelevant, I could easily mention my own over years before and after the wage hike, in different neighborhoods. That would be equally irrelevant.

Seattle was expensive, it still is. Cost of living hasn't climbed unduly, nor has unemployment gone up by an unreasonable margin. However, many people have seen their wages increase significantly.
