they get a bad rap but they are great alert/therapy/lap dogs with their pin point hearing,ear piercing bark,and affecionate!

very easy matainace/cheap too they wont tear yer house down!


i really perfer a bit larger chihuahuas teacups i have no 'sperience

We were left a deer chihuahua from my step-daughter.  Fucker has destroyed our carpets with urine and our couches by needling his claws through the threads for some fucking type of enjoyment.  I love the little rat bastard, but a 10 pound animal has ruined our once nice home.

I will never own another fucking dog, it's like having a spoiled kid, and fuck the responsibility if you ever want to go out of town or on vacation... >:(

I love my little chi! He's a rescue dog. I found him abandoned at a disc golf course :frown:  he had the worst mange and it took forever for him to heal up and grow all his hair back.

I've seen other dogs out there, one was so badly emaciated that I cried and called the Humane Society and they picked him up and fed him. I get so angry when people dump animals. The HS worker told me that this is a popular place that people dump their animals. It's a park in the ghetto..

Exactly, our place smells like piss and I have to steam clean once a month as those stains come back even darker each time after a couploe weeks.  I was never a pet person then we got stuck with it... FML

Oh and I didn't mention the random puking every few days, could be on our bed, on our couch, on the carpet.... I guess it's a normal thing for him.

I have a half min pin half chihuahua. I call her a Mexican min pin or a mini min pin.

Best thing that has ever happened to me. Never pissed inside her whole life. She LOVES to pee outside. She will pee 100 times and still sit there trying to piss out number 101 and force a drop out and get all excited she marked some new territory.

You gotta train the thing, dude. I found a tiny 2 pound female chihuahua and attempted to keep her even though I'm not a dog person...or wasn't. Anyway it was hell, that is, until I looked into training her. I read free articles at leerburg.com and then put it into practice. And you know what? It went so well that, within a few months, we decided on a "multi-dog household" and got her 3 companions. My gf and I had to change our whole lives, but life is way better now.

The dogs I fucking hate. I cannot stand there barking. They're generally untrained. When I got a dog I trained him. He was my best friend. I fucking hate them. That little barking noise is something I deal with constantly as I walk everywhere

Well my dog was half husky and some sort of terrier. He had to be put down which I'm still dealing with that. Cancer. But he hated the chi. He got to be big but he was always nice and respectful. Exactly like I taught him.

People that get small dogs don't fucking teach them to be proper people. Well the ones that get small dogs aren't people I talk to ever.

He was already 12 when we got him, very hard to train old dogs.  But we have trained him to go on pads in a box,,,, but if we are gone at work, he will poop in it and not go back in, he will proceed to piss on carpet.  I wouldn't trade him for the world, he is a very lovable little guy, but it reinforces I will never own another pet.

Try two boxes with pads. I read about a guy who trained his chihuahuas to use litter boxes, but they would never piss and poop in the same box. He had to have two, and they always pissed in one and pooped in the other.
