I don't think working in a kennel really qualifies you to answer any question about dogs.  Maybe asking about cleaning up after people who actually know something about dogs, but otherwise... nah.

How do dogs like the basenji react to being borded? ive always heard they generally bond really well with their owner but i can just imagine them being cheating little whores who suck up to the boarding workers for scratches, cuddles and treats.

Well, I can't claim to be a dog behaviorist, but I certainly know a lot more about dogs than well, 99% of people. Are you really trying to claim that the average dog owner knows more about dogs than someone who spends 40 hours a week with 80 dogs?

We have two basenjis that come in regularly. One of them only boards with us every once in a while is a total asshole and will bite you if you try to pick him up or move him around with your hands. He has bitten me once. The other is extremely sweet, but she is there every day for daycare and I guess she's used to being there.

I think it would be fun to find a job where you got to work with animals, I really wish I could work at the zoo, that would be amazing.

My ex worked at a vet, that was really cool, got to go in and help her sometimes since I knew the people that ran the place, was a lot of fun.  I had a job working in a cat rescue shelter, that was probably my favorite except for having to clean litter boxes each day, so much cat poop. 

Anyway, yeah cool job, I have no questions now, but if I do will let you know.

every basenji ive been around gets snappy and bitchy whenever they are napping or relaxing and someone tries to move them, its a ... basenji thing.

minor scuffles are common.

injuries that have to be addressed at the vet only happen once every few months. had a dog get his ear torn in half about 5 or 6 weeks ago.

No, we have never had any lethal dog fights.

when a dog fight happens do you tell the owner, or do sometimes/most times, u patch them up and pretend it never happened?  especially when they are injuried in a such a way that you don't think the owners will notice/minor, ect

If there is any kind of injury whatsoever we tell the owner. If dogs get into a scuffle but there is no injury no I don't see any reason why we should tell the owners. They like to pretend their dogs are all perfect little angels.

I definitely think that because you only work with spayed or neutered dogs the experience it gives you with dogs in general is actually quite limited. Being in heat, sexual aggression, and testicles change the dog dynamic incredibly. It's sort of like a man who has never been laid saying he knows all about women because he has 3 sisters.

And the lack of canine fatalities in your center is certainly helped by this wise discrimination.
