How do you like your steak cooked?

I like mine medium but depending on the restraunt ill ask for in medium rare. In average restaurants they tend to overcook it and it turns medium anyway. Ill be happy with medium rare anyhow. Anything else is bad.

Depends on the cut or beef.

For a lean cut like filet mignon, I prefer raw or rare. Nothing beats a steak tartare or carpaccio.

For a fattier cut like ribeye, I prefer seared on the outside with a nice char, and medium rare or even medium on the inside. I ordered ribeye rare at the world-famous Peter Luger's once and that was a mistake. Fatty cuts of beef are really not good rare at all, the fat makes it way too chewy.

For beef cheeks, I prefer marinated and braised.

For short ribs, I prefer salted and grilled. Nice char on the outside, medium rare on the inside.

Oxtail, I prefer kkori gomtang (a very simple Korean style oxtail stew, made with nothing but oxtail, water, garlic, salt, and onions).

But, I refuse to eat beef unless it's very high-quality. I've bought beef at a few American supermarkets like Shoprite and Food 4 Less, and the meat isn't even palatable unless you marinade that shit in some kind of BBQ sauce.

The best beef I have ever had was locally raised beef in Japan. There are some brands like Matsuzaka, that are even better than Kobe beef (and I'm talking real Kobe beef, the kind that is not sold here in the USA). According to the documentary Steak Revolutionary, Argentina has the #1 best beef, with Japan a close second.

Melts in your mouth like butter, I have been to some of the most famous steakhouses in Manhattan and Los Angeles, and never had beef anywhere close to as good as I did in Japan.

medium well, just the slightest hint of pink on the inside.

rare steaks are chewy and get cold before i can finish em. no thanks

Well done steak is delicious!

If the steak is even a little red or pink, I won't eat it.

Well done steak with a bit of salt and black pepper is heavenly imo. Way better than bloody, gross steak.

As a rule, I don't eat steaks.  I find that they are all overly chewy.  I keep finding these firm things in them (is this the gristle).

Some people will argue over their favorite cuts while maintaining a nasueating air of supriority about their shit taste in food. Anyone who diverges from that dialouge ends up being crucified.
