I wouldn't worry aboot it too much, Smack...I'm 29 and I'm only now becoming satisfied with the direction I've taken and the decisions that I'm making. I noticed that at age 24, I did have a little bit of an identity crisis and was apprehensive over where I was going. I used to almost bust oot laughing in job interviews when they would ask me the question, 'where do you see yourself in 3 years.' Fuck, I don't know. 3 years ago, did this dood envision interviewing me at Jerkwater Sales and Service? An absence of a clear decision on your future isn't a bad thing, it makes you more in common with everyone else. When I'm 35, I'll look back and mock myself for having the audacity at 29 for thinking that I can come off sounding wise and having a focused agenda.

The only thing that has stood out for me since I was 24 is change and adapting. Our preferences. Our goals. Our dreams. The only constant is change. One thing that I've just begun to learn and embrace is how wonderful and free you feel as an individual, is when you break free of the mold of what other's define you as; or define you as to what you should be doing. Breaking free of society stereotypes. ie, stopped caring so much over what others think of me and what I'm doing and focusing on what I think of me and how I feel about goals and dreams. So much of the 'limbo' that we feel is based on conflicting thoughts/opinions of what others feel and what we feel. And compromising yourself for the sake of others' influences and opinions is why we have mid-life crisis'.

It's like society is a massive herd of cattle moving in one uniform direction, but when some stray cattle like ourselves looks around and sees a really beautiful pasture away from the herd, it's like:
"Hey, that looks beautiful. The pre-determined direction of the herd isn't what I need. That pasture way over there is what I need."
And the herd says "What the fuck are you doing??!!! Are you nuts???!! You don't know what's out there!!! Get the fuck back in line with the rest of us and blend in, where you can wait for death in a safe, predictable environment!"

Don't pay attention to what the herd thinks of you or what they tell you. Do things on your own terms and you'll live free. All the other jazz will take care of its self.
