Who here has gotten a colonoscopy?

So I have my second colonoscopy (with endoscopy too) scheduled soon.  They apparently found blood in my stool and want to check it out. My health history is weird with lyme and other stuff that I've posted here about it here before.

Anyway I'm not looking forward to the prep or being knocked out, though the drugs they use may arguably feel good. I think they're using the Michael Jackson drugs for my procedure. I do feel a little nervous about the test but I think the information obtained from it could be valuable since my stomachs been messed up so long.

The GI doctor also said when I asked about cancer he told me he doesn't think I have it but having the test come back clean for that would also be a relief as well.

I wonder if I ate very little the days leading to prep if I can drink less of the solution they say to take. Anyone think this is a good idea? What's your experience been like with these procedures?

I seem to remember waking up long enough to see the laser flashes on the monitor.
I'm due another one soon, especially with how messed up my gut's been lately.

I was supposed to go for one and had to cancel the appointment unfortunately, which I had waited a very long time for.

Unfortunately I had to go to work in a different province (bills take priority over health I guess) need to feed myself and the family.

I hope nothing is wrong and hopefully can reschedule sometime in the future but then it'll be another 3-6 month wait

Free health care is OK, but it is slow as shit, and very hard to get appointments in decent time, even ones that could be absolutely vital to your health..

I had a colonoscopy with endoscopy a few years ago when I had bad ibs. The prep was the worst part. I thought I had it all out and went to bed with a handful of etizolam. I woke up in the morning swimming in a very large puddle of shit. They gave propfol for anaesthsia and I didn't remember a thing. I was concerned because I was using handfuls of etizolam every day at the time. They found everything clean as could be but diagnosed me with lymphocytic colitis, which I keep under control by not eating potatoes, tomatoes, tobacco, peppers, eggplants, tomatillos, jimson weed, and most tree nuts.

I've never had a colonoscopy but they don't sound daunting or bad at all because they only shove a camera with your arse.

Now... I've had a gastroscopy. That shit was HORRIBLE. I got around 4mg Midazolam IM and it helped but.... the tube made you over salivate and gag and you could feel the the wire/camera go down your throat... ugh.
They also fill your stomach with air to get a better look and after the procedure, I had moderate stomach pain/discomfort and farting for many hours after.
