Headshop kratom

My local headshop apparently has 5 gram bags of Kratom. What are the chances its bunk? I read you should look out for capsules, but apparently this is powder. Its only 5 bucks (which is expensive for 5 grams of kratom im assuming) and I've never done kratom before so would like to experience it.

Also, what kind of extra shit do headshops put in kratom?

I don't think the headshops themselves add anything to it. My understanding is basically there were some cheap chinese brand kratom that was being sold for a while that had trace amounts of an anologue that could give a false positive for tramadol. From what I've seen 5 grams for 5$ in a headshop is a pretty decent deal.

It looks fine to me.  Even red vein strains are all green when powdered.  It should smell a bit like a very bitter green tea and taste the same as well.  Odds are it probably is kratom, just might not be the most potent.

Probably start at like 3 grams of the maeng and work my way up.

If i were you id just take the 5. Krat isnt overwhelming, even at 15 grams IME, though i wouldnt recommend it.

Just take the 5 Gs, usually all i eat is headshop kratom and its not that much weaker/stronger

Could be the fact that it's a mix of strains.  IME bali and green malay tend to be very bitter while mang da is less bitter but sort of "spicey."  Freshness makes a big difference too, the more fresh the more bitter.  I used to let my kratom sit in a mason jar for a week or so before using it as it would reduce the bitter taste.

Thats probably it then, i really doubt the stuff i got is fresh haha

But yeah I'm going for the 5 grams and if I dont feel it i will probably just take the other 5. If I dont feel 10 im assuming i bought really shitty kratom.

With a qty & price that low, might as well try it.
Somehow, most headshop Kratom seems to suck ass.

I know we aren't allowed to discuss sources, but as far as brands, Kratora has done me pretty solid.

Then again I've come to dislike Kratom.
