The best field flask filler is 70% grain alcohol. Not just does it pack a lot of bang for the buck, but 70% is the most antiseptic concentration of alcohol so if you really mess up BAD you can use it to desinfect surfaces. It can also be set on fire.

I have a beautiful no frills stainless hip flask.
