What's in your flask!?

I spend a lot of time in the bush all year around and I like to carry my flask with me for a tasty treat that'll keep me warm. Anybody else carry a flask often?

I'm wondering what you usually fill it with? Most of the time I fill mine with a mix of 5 parts strong dark rum, 2 parts distilled water, 1 part maple syrup.

That's my favourite flask filler but sometimes I'll fill it with straight booze.

Anybody got any hip flask recipes to share that still taste good once they pick up your body heat?

I just have some straight dark jamaican rum in mine. Don't drink out of it much but it's nice to have one.

I usually keep my flask filled with Maker's Mark. It doesn't get much better than that

some nice aged tequila goes with me when skiing, lots of vanilla and cinnamon notes. generally a resopsado because i am mixing with brews otherwise if straight an anjeo.

The strongest shit you can get in Canada is Bacardi 151. For that reason, if I were to have a flask, I think it would be pretty cool to fill it with that. That's because a flask isn't very big, so if you're gonna be in the woods for a few days you gotta make sure you got enough to keep ya going. Flasks are pretty cool though. :lahey:

You can get global alcool %94 grain alcohol in Canada. That's almost %20 more alcohol than Bacardi 151.

I'm %100 sure actually. I live in Ontario,
You just need to go through the LCBO website. You apply to them for a permit to buy high strength over proof food safe alcohol. If you get accepted they give you a one year permit to buy the global alcool product which is %94 grain alcohol. They keep it in the back not on the shelves since you need a permit to buy it. The permit is exceptionally easy to get and is free. You have to show it when buying the alcohol. I think it took me about one week from start to finish to get my permit and all they asked for was my name and intended use, you don't need to prove your age to get the permit because you still need to show ID at the LCBO along with your permit which has your name printed on it, so only you can use the permit.

I think it only comes in either 1000ml or 1500ml bottles and is something like $75 I can't quite remember it's been almost 10 months since I bought any.

It is absolutely amazing for tinctures.

Nice man. I always thought we were doomed to have to use 151 for that stuff here, but I guess I got a new project for the winter months. Pretty exciting. You ever make tinctures? lol It would me cool to make a really mild one and put THAT in my flask hahaha.

Yes I have experience making tincture :smile:
And yes the %94 makes a good mix drink if you like it stiff :awesomenod:
