Oh My God! Look At What I Found
    #2238572 - 01/13/04 09:29 AM (13 years, 10 months ago)

I was in Lake City Way with my friend and there was this Small enclosed area along a building where the concrete was four feet over a small muclched areaa and there was some kinda grating with steam pouring out of it from the building. I guess it kept the area warmer than around the outside. This enclosure hung over the mulched area and I found these little blue fuckers. About close to an ounce. Sime my Camera is at K Nikon's being repaired at a pretty penny, I borrowed my friends Pentax camera and took these pictures/

What a Wonderful World!

Thw word I was looking for before was a crawl space. It was about four feet above the ground and about six feet under the edge of the building but mulched in. I guess a crawl space wopuld have been a appropriate word.

Excellent finds MJ. For those outside Seattle, one week ago, we had a few inches of snow in town, which makes this find extra rare. Here's a photo snapped last Tuesday...

Psillygirl,
these had a concrete slab over the top of them so no falling snow hit them. Then there is a central manhole fixed grating with hot steeam shooting straight out of it over the ground but about three feet above the ground, thus causing a warm flow of air over the mulched area.

And there were several blue pinners also.

AS I noted before here in the forums somewhere I did once pick P. cyans (2 thick clumbs) in the first week of Feb at a QfC store and also in 1986 I found a whole garden near the zoo with blue ringers rosettes in the mulch.

And a few years ago Joshua found some P. cyanofibrillosa in March-April. These are rare fruitings and only occur every ten or twenty years. But even you said you found some blue pinners right before the snow.

Have a shroomy day
