I am in no means an expert, but you really should be searching the internet for information about this. There have been several posts, both here, and other places on the net. If you want a good answer you need to search for information, and make your own conclusion. Most people that follow up to these questions are ex-doghandlers that train dogs to smell drugs and/or explosives. Many of them will tell you that it isnt the product itself that gives away the scent, but a residue of the product on the outside of what ever container you use. I have been told that cellophane, the kind of stuff that they put hard candy in is the best at sealing in scent. Good luck.

I would do this:

Wearing latex rubber gloves, TIGHTLY pack the herbs into a heavy duty tin-foil and wrap it up until it has at least 10 layers. Then you wrap the tin-foil package up TIGHTLY in duct-tape, until it has about at least 5 good layers on it. Then you throw away the latex rubber gloves and put a fresh pair on, and spray a generous amount of lysol around the area. Then you rub vaseline all over it. Thick and Goopy. Then you pack it TIGHTLY in a heavy-duty ziplock bag that you store frozen goods in, and vacuum-seal it with your mouth or whatever you choose. and then roll it up and TIGHTLY wrap that up in duct-tape. Then Rub vaseline all over it. Then you stick it in a jar of honey. Honey prevents any smell from escaping because it's viscous. Then, you bury the jar of honey in a coffee-can with ground coffee. Then you wrap it up in a blanket/towel/cloth that has a nice fragrance to it, perfume, cologne, detergent, lysol or whatever, just something nice. Get a new fresh pair of latex gloves. And then put it in the box, with the blanket/towel/cloth still wrapped around it and all. Seal the box generously with tape. Don't take off the gloves until you're absolutely finished sealing the box.

The reason for the gloves is because many people often make the mistake of sealing the boxes after they've packed in the herbs into the package--which leaves traces of the herb's scent on the outside of the package--and then the dogs will be tipped off.

If you follow those instructions above...NO animal on this planet will EVER smell it. Period.

Try growing bud with an ioniser present. Heard it takes the smell out of the buds. Don?t know if its true tho. It does rid the air of all smell and particels that are floating around so.

heres what i do.

supplies,
heat sealer, (if you dont have this its allright, just use more ziplocs or seal it with a lighter.
10 ziploc bags
the hottest pepper that you can find
a can of OFF or other really stong bug repellant.
dryer sheets
freshly ground coffee.
can of lysol
3 pair latex gloves.

so heres the concept, you want to layer your weed within bags of the above things.

for each of the below listed bags you want as little air as possible in each layer of bags so that size is as small as possibile

put on the first set of gloves
take your weed and put it in a ziploc and heat seal it, thy and get it all in the bottom half, so you can use the top half of the bag as another bag.
now take the top half of the bag, and seal the bottom of it so it is now a half size bag, and put your weed bag in it. cover the fucker with the pepper and seal.

now take off your gloves and put on pair two. make sure you dont put the bag of pepper and weed on anything that the weed has touched.place the bag of pepper and weed in a new bag and coat the fucker with OFF and seal it.

then take that bag and put it in another bag and fill it with lysol. and seal the fuck out of it.

now take that bag and rubberband dryer sheets over the whole thing and put in in another bag and seal it

now its time for pair of gloves number 3. take aonther bag, and place your weed/lysol/off/pepper bag in another bag and cover it with freshly ground coffee, and seal that.

so now you have your weed covered in a layer of one of each
off
lysol
pepper
dyrer sheets
and coffee.

assuming that you sealed each bag right, and that you didnt transfer any tri-chromes to the outer bag since you changed your gloves, you probably have a really good package.

you could vacume seal it, but the big thing is you gotta not contaminate the outside of the container.

Although ive had herb skunky enough to stink up my room coming thru sammich bag then ziplock in my dresser.

Just something to consider.....dogs can smell avalanche victims buried 10ft under snow/earth, they can also smell trails that are years old in murder cases and such.

you cant just take the weed and seal in 200 plastic bags or anything, people think that putting pot in a air tight army ammo can will save them, the problem, is the scent can get on the outside, through the air.

there is no way a dog can smell a trail that is years old, no matter how important the case it. dogs have amazing noses, but not that miraculous. dogs have trouble following a trail if the wind is blowing, it is cold, there has been precipitation since the trail has been left, or the trail is a few days old.

Dogs can smell a bag of pot inside a compartment inside a gas tank, with gasoline in it. pepper just screws up there nose, which makes the cops look even harder. Everyone should realize that K-9 handlers are trained to look out for cover scents/products as well.

They can follow a smell usually until it rains.  I know they can follow a trail at least a few days old, but there is no way they can follow a trail that is years old.  That is just plain silly.

I swear I saw some shit on the discovery channel where they used bloodhounds to find evidence that was years old. I honestly don't remember the details at all, just that it was something to do with a murder and bloodhounds. They were not drug dogs though, they were specially trained bloodhounds that some old lady owned and let the cops borrow for murder investigation.
