Let's say some one grafted a button to pereskiopsis and expected to harvest within one year of that? How many buttons would it require to attain a strong mescaline trip? I plan on having a peyote garden eventually, but I need to factor in how many buttons I should hope on attaining.

3 months for this ... never tryed peyote but assume this would be enuf for a dose

interesting. one button, you'd suspect? peyote gardening + grafting seems to be so much fun--I NEED TO TRY IT! Not only that, the mescaline adventure seems to be quite enlightening...

that button wouldn't get you any high, peyote builds up mescaline in hard times, droughts or when it's stressed in any way.
grafting is just the opposite of that, is to supply the cactus with an extra feeding thats why it grows that faster.
if you want to trip i think you should rather try san pedro or peruvian torch!
peyotes are endangered on its wild habitat, we should save them as much as we can.

Okay, so let's say you graft and you grow peyote that big and that fast, but then it isn't going to have any real mescaline in it because it was grown that fast.

Is it possible to take it off of the pereskioposis and put it back on its own, and it will start to develop mescaline? How long would it take for, let's say, that one in the picture above, if you removed it and then put it on its own, before you would be able to get enough to have a decent trip?

And if you couldn't take it back off the plant and let it grow on its own, what's the point of doing it? :wink:

I've seen some heated debate about grafted vs true to seed grown lophs on mescaline content. Some say grafts are just as good as true to seed. I'd like to take some time one day to verify this wth some good quantitative methods.

i would love to check it out on myself too! =)
but i doubt the grafted will achieve very close concentrations if we go to the mass spectometer...

fireworks_god: you want lophophora for dinner don't you? yes, you can ungraft your lopho or whatever it is when it reaches the size you want, let it root and leave it all stressed out for a few years before you dinner.
anyways, i'm no expert in cacti, all my knowledge on mescaline is merely theoric.

a new williamsii sprout i found yesterday - it looks weird it aint round

im also seeing lots of different pests even ants ... and some1 said ants breed
mealies so how do i get rid of em??
