Shit looks dope as fuck. Based on infamous real life Boston mobster Whitey Bulger.
Releases mid-September I believe.

Yeah, that's an excellent trailer. Movie looks real good too.
The Zoolander 2 teaser was released recently. A lot of people hated Zoolander, but I liked it.

Yeah that looks pretty cool. Even though Johnny Depp often plays some pretty similar roles, he really is a very versatile actor. A lot of famous 'actors' pretty much just play themselves in everything.

I read Black Mass years ago when I was probably like 15 or something. Super interesting story, I'll definitely see the movie just because I read the book. I never really go to see movies but I have sort of personal interest having read the story so long ago.

I'm a big Depp fan, but I was also an avid follower of the entire Whitey Bulger saga. Absolutely fascinating story around Bulger...dude was the most powerful mobster in Boston, had a brother in the US fucking Senate, and a childhood friend working deep within the FBI for him...I mean you can't write that shit. It would sound completely fictional. But it wasn't.
Then he disappears for 15 years -- living in Santa Monica in plain sight as the FBI's 2nd most wanted in the world behind Osama Bin Laden. Amazing stuff, really.

I read a book by a guy that supposedly worked for James Bulger and supposedly they would have to supply him with a steady stream of underage boys and girls. I wonder if that will be addressed in the movie. I don't think it's really that appropriate to romanticize someone who actually was a reprehensible person when it comes down to it, but I guess it wouldn't be the first time.

Damn that's the first time I've heard that. I know what guy you're talking about too -- his right hand man, Kevin Weeks I believe.
He definitely shouldn't be romanticized; dude was ultimately a snitch after all. He gave up every other mobster (outside of his own crew) in Boston at the time to that fed friend of his. That's how he eliminated the competition. And he's also a serial killer for all intents & purposes.
That said though, his story is absolutely fascinating.

And by the way, The Departed, the story & Jack Nicholson's character, were also inspired by Bulger & the story that surrounded him.

For the most part I can't stand Ben Stiller. There were some funny moments in Zoolander though.
