Kava Kava?

Who here has experience with Kava? I read a few erowid reports and am intrigued now..

How well does it mix in combo with kratom?

I remember getting a sample pack of kava before but didnt feel anything.. I heard it could take a few tries though..

Oh and everyone reports it tastes awful.. But couldnt i just capsulize it?

I have tried kava several times, several ways, extracts and root, various methods of preparing , various vendors.

Its worth looking into for sure, its worth a try.

Best bet is get some high quality powdered root and prepare with cheese cloth massaging it in a bowl of pure water with clean hands until it turns dark, drink and repeat.

I have been using kava each evening for about five days now. On it right now, two shells. Feeling it ok. Its pretty decent, worth looking into. Synergizes well with kratom.

You can also try kavalactone paste. Most pills and capsules are thought to be not as good. Powdered root or kavalactone paste are best bets.

Its good stuff, take milk thistle with it and dont drink with it.

He's referring to coconut shells, which is how they serve it in Vanuatu.

I have the best way to prepare if you're interested. Get quality powdered root from a Vanuatu source. Toss 1 cup of powder in blender with 2 tablespoons soy lecithin(important to emulsify the goods out of the powder) and water or soy milk. Blend on high for no less than 5 minutes. You'll be left with a thick warm mud that needs to be rung out through a t-shirt with extreme force. Pour mix into t-shirt and tie it off. Wring until there is no moisture left. Drink the liquid. The powdered kava left over should be almost dry and powdery if you extracted it correctly.

It's often drank in half coconut shells.
Kava works but I wouldn't mix it with any other drugs because like alcohol it may effect the liver. I've never had any problems with it though.

If you're going to do it buy pure root powder and a good strainer. It works but is very subtle for some people.

Since it's not in any legal grey area yet here are some good venders I trust.

Alright, I'll keep that in mind.  I've been eyeballing it for a while now but havn't decided to commit yet.  It's one of those things that keeps popping up though so I may have to bite the bullet and just give it a go.

Any side effects or tolerance issues come up when you've used it?

No tolerance that I can tell of it seems to be more effective the longer you use it strangely.
It's very numbing. It'll numb your mouth, throat, and stomach. Sometimes a numb stomach feels odd and can lead to nausea. I find eating about 30-45 mins in will help.

There is no tolerance whatsoever and no withdrawals even after years of daily use. It does cause me a bit of nausea when I take it too far. The high is closely associated with your food intake. It's hard to describe, but is best taken on a totally empty stomach and allowed to absorb until you feel where you want to be, then start eating to avoid the nausea. If you eat prior, the effects are drastically diminished to the point of nothing. This is one reason a lot of people get nothing out of it, but if done right will knock you on your ass.

I have tried my fair share of kava, I have never used extracts or the pills I always go to my local kava bar and drink the tea. They sell it in shots for about 2.50 a shot. You need about 5 shots initially to get a nice relaxed, euphoric effect. THIS IS NOT COST EFFECTIVE BY ANY MEANS! However, kava is interesting due to its reverse tolerance effects and the more kava you drink the less you need to get effects.

Kava for me isnt as much a high as it is a nice way to ease stress or to lower inhibitions without losing my mental clarity, allowing me to become more social and a bit euphoric... The tea tastes BAD and is very bitter. However it works! I however would love to try an extract to reduce the amount needed to get good effects and im sure its more cost effective.

DO NOT buy kava tea pre-packaged ( tea-bags/pills ) Only buy the organic root extract or get the tea from a trusted source to ensure purity and potency.

But try it out! Its def worth it, we would love to hear the experience!

After getting good results from high priced caps I bought some powder online. I found the feeling to be very similar to alcohol with a much more substantial hangover when drinking it in excess. I never touched it again after having a hangover for two days.
