Copper to deter slugs

Foes wire suffice or is it better to use sheeting?  With either should I just make a perimeter around whole bed or better to just make around fruit clusters?

Funny story, I wrapped two galvanized steel wires around some garden beds in close proximity to each other and attached an old 12v battery, one wire to positive, the other to the negative. This way when a slug would slide over both wires it would complete the circuit and zap the shit out of them.

Well, it worked pretty well until I had the brilliant idea of using an ultra bright LED to it. Every fucking night I'd see hundreds of quick flashes of light from my garden. It was funny as hell for the first few nights but then it got really old really quick.

I thought most people just put a bunch of salt/crushed eggshells for slugs?

I've never heard that before, but that very well may be so.

Salt/eggshells work like a charm for me and a lot of others though.
